I'm a fan of Martin Murray, mostly because he's from the same town as me, but he's a good solid fighter. He was unlucky in his title matches against Sturm & Martinez. And admittedly he didn't do enough against Abraham but was by no means out classed. However, GGG battered him all over the shop for 11 rounds. I was incredibly impressed with him. I'm not sure about the best ever but he's an awesome fighter.

    Robinson - Welter
    Leonard - Welter
    Hearns - Welter
    Hagler - Middle

I would say yes - he is!

No, but he's surely making a fine account of himself, and if he stays the course, sooner or later the chance for a signature victory could help elevate his already impressive accomplishments, putting his whole perspective in a much better light.

The fanatical faction of his fan base will always overrate him, but he's not as far removed from true greatness as his biggest critics would like to believe, either.

I have a feeling GGG will have that signature win before he retires my guess is 2017 all it will take is just that one fight

I think something will come along eventually. I don't think that "something" is Canelo, however.

I personally dont even feel the canelo fight will do much for his legacy only good thing about that fight is canelo has a name and GGG might cross over.

if he fights canelo He will knock him out more easier than he knocked out murray or david

All it will take is just that one fight that will get him that signature win

Agreed 100%. Canelo would be a payday and possibly something that can elevate his star power in the longer term.

Agreed. It baffles me Golovkin doesn't just call his bluff.

Wait? Are you saying a win over Canelo will help him land a signature win type of opponent? Because I don't necessarily think that. I think someone will have to emerge who isn't really on the current scene just yet. But in time I think that could happen, regardless of whether the Canelo fight ever comes off.

Roy would land on him way before and Roy had more than enough power to KO GGG. GGG is a good fighter, amazing amateur background proves he can box. But he does get himself in positions that leave him very exposed and a quick powerful fighter like Jones would be on this. But GGG doesn't even have to get in these positions to let Roy pick him apart with his speed. Just two different levels here. You would see the difference within 30 seconds between these 2 and Roy wins almost every time. GGG has a punches chance though.
