Aka, where do you get that Tunney beat Greb? Aka, how do you come to that conclusion? Aka, how do you take five out of seven decisions saying Tunney DID NOT win and come back with "Tunney beat Greb good and solid?" Aka, get back to me when you improve your reading comprehension.

As I said the hits keep a coming, now they are just getting dumb and dumber, maybe my comprehension will improve when what you write gets better and the points you are making make sense. The one above is a perfect example of your "writing" skills. I could have said Tunney gave Greb an a$$ whipping in that last fight but I didn't.
Boy are you obsessed with aka, cr apper, you are so stupid that your tracks are there for all to see, and the funny thing is you think you're being clever. I will give you a clue, you argue the same under all your aka's lol. I am debating whether to include this on your greatest hits list.

I agree with most of that but this article written in 1924 clearly was concerned with the fact that Grab wanted to fight Tunney and they do acknowledge that Tunney is too strong and too big for him, not Gene's fault that Harry didn't agree. Their 5 fight series wasn't split, Greb won the first Tunney is given the 2nd and 3rd... the 4th is credited as a draw which Tunney had the edge.... it was only a ND 10 rounder though and by the last round it seems Harry is getting wobbled and the bell rang just in time...... Greb may have lasted another 5 rounds but was almost knocked down just before the fight ended. The draw is not official... the 5th was won by Tunney...... the ND fights do not count officially....it is just us and the old timers who claim wins one way or the other. In the end these losses can't be held against Greb but on the other side of the coin the loss Tunney is credited does not count against him as he was making a huge step up in class for that, his best opponent before that off the top of my head was Leo Houk... Houk was no Greb, far from it.

I believe that Greb, saw it as an advantage being lighter meant being faster and that was Grebs biggest asset his speed, why he said it himself, when referring to a possible fight with Dempsey, he said he would weigh 165 for the fight. The same with his arm punches that he didn't have to set himself to punch meant he would be faster getting off, it was just part of his strategy. He wasn't stopping guys cos he was feather dusting them to death.

And then Greb BEAT Tunney later that year...

Houck is a hall of fame fighter with better wins to his name than Les Darcy and to his credit he didn't turn his tail and run at the first sight of Mike Gibbons. Houck would have taken Darcy to school and made him cry for Harald Baker to come to his rescue like he did against Jeff Smith. "Please daddy, please come save me from the big bad American. His body punches hurt too much." LOL. Poor wittle wes darcy :tong

Greb 5'8. 165 pounds. He states he would be 163 pounds if he were to step in the ring with the worlds hwt champion. One of boxings hardest punchers.

Someone would have gone to the hospital.

Where were the megabuck offers to fight Greb? There was a reason why the offers to fight Carpentier, Firpo and Tunney far outpaced what was being offered to fight Greb. Much fewer fight fans wanted to pay to see a middleweight fight the worlds hwt champion. Very hard fight to sell.

Come on Bert, you have to give Les Darcy some credit. His legacy of tackling larger fighters is every bit as great as Greb's after all Harold "who" Hardwicke was no slouch. He sported the amazing record of 4 wins, 5 losses, scoring a single KO in his career and suffering three. However, what is not known is that he as the inventor of the Delayed Reaction Punch. A punch so deadly that it killed Les Darcy a whopping 14 months after he had actually "lost" to Les Darcy. Incredible. Now, I ask you: If you fight a guy and lose the fight but the opponent dies as a result and you live to the ripe old age of 70 did you really lose? Its a rather interesting philosophical question and I think Hardwick's record should have another "W" on it.

Because unlike idiots who do not understand the sport do not understand
Yes I agree Idiots like you don’t understand the sport
Darcy never came close to proving himself the way Greb did and didn't achieve 1/4 what Greb did.
‘er klump, you do understand that Darcy died before he had anywhere near the fights Greb had.
    Dempsey ducked Greb and Wills.
Klump that has been explained, your ducking is someone else’s “had better things to do then listen to endless would be promoters who couldn’t come up with the money to make the fight happen.” There’s articles which you choose to ignore, example Dempsey telling Greb and Wills to go find a promoter. I guess they are still looking I guess cos the fights never happen. Refer back to your own post outlining the Dempsey contract, that will tell you all you need to know.

And then Greb BEAT Tunney later that year...
Klump explain in great detail what happened the following year.

because it suits your ever shifting narrative that Tunney simply outgrew Greb and now that Tunney finally figured out Greb's style
Give Tunney some credit he did finally figure out Greb and Greb paid dearly for it.
But lets be honest, notice a trend here with your posts aka? Every snippet of information that supports your case you accept blindly while ignoring a mountain of contrary evidence.
Jeez that sounds a lot like you
I could do that because I have the facts on my side. When you have the facts on your side you don't have to hide behind selective information and find ways to disqualify everything that doesn't agree with you.
Yes but most of these facts are cherry picked by you there are opposing views which you do not accept. Again it sounds a lot like what you do
You aren't a boxing fan, you aren't a historian, you are a delusional admirer not of the sport but of a personality in the sport. Detritus.
Dang are you looking in the mirror when you wrote all this.

Klump I am still waiting for a response, you even ignore Grebs own words in the article that was posted to start this thread. Why cos it don't fit your agenda.

It is probably easier to just ask the question to those who know here, rather than spend hours looking for the answer.

But, at the time of the proposed Greb Dempsey there was still No Decision fights in most states? Of these offers that are being made, are they all in states that provide for a decision?

I know Dempsey Ironically ended up losing the title to Tunney by a decision, but realistically, Greb was not going to KO Dempsey and as such would not be a chance (on prior form) unless the decision was in a state which allowed a decision to be rendered.

Perhaps this could be why Greb's victims got the shots. They had far better KO records and therefore proved a better chance at wresting the title in an ND match?
