Nope.

Realistically, it's not even a competitive fight.

Vargas hasn't got a single good win.

You can all sit there and say "*insert name here* is taken, this one will do" but that will keep happening and happening.

ALL of the top talent can't ALWAYS be tied up when Kell wants to fight them, surely? Why can't Kell wait till the winter to fight a huge name? He's had massive spells of inactivity before, so it's not like it's new to him.

Just another b/s fight which will cost the earth, and he'll injure himself come winter, and it'll be the same charade next year.

Vargas, IMHO, isn't THAT much of a step-up from these pointless mandatories he's been dealing with.

 

Kell needs to fight instead of waiting around. Waiting till the winter is not a good idea at all. Fighting Vargas, getting another belt and look to fight again in the winter is smart.

Not being funny but could you imagine the stick kell would get if he turned down Vargas in a unification fight.

Do you really think people would say, well done kell. He would get ripped to shreds and you would be one of them joining in.

 

Vargas is one of the weakest top 10 WW out there but its way better than the dross Kells been fighting for most of his career.

 

Haha I've heard it all now, its a World Title Unification fight why wouldn't he take it? He can fight in July and then again in the winter when he's a unified world champion.

 

A unification against the weakest belt holder in the division.

And what's he gonna do when he becomes unified champ and HAS to fight the elite? We both know he'll be injured/move up a class etc.

Vargas will not be remembered this time next year as a decent champ, let alone a good one!

 

Im not saying Vargas is elite but your making an argument against a fighter not wanting to take a fight to win a world title. To be honest i think your just trolling to be fair.

This is the best fight out there to take at this moment in time, and he can pick up another world title in the process. literally who else is there for him to fight? ah i know he should just take your great advice and not bother fighting till the end of the year and miss a nice pay cheque and another strap.

He wants the WBO as an excuse to drop the IBF, when Spence becomes mandatory. Brook doesn't want big or challenging fights that is crystal clear.

I wouldn't be surprised if he is begging Eddie to make the Liam Smith fight.

Good fight for Kell, cant understand any criticism of this to be honest, its a unification fight against a good fighter, he's not the best fighter in the division but you cant fight what's not available.

 

Brook wants the WBO to add to his IBF so that he has greater bargaining power to force some of the guys like Garcia and Thurman to fight him. Brook isn't in a position really to be demanding the big fights because his name isn't big enough for his ability, someone like Garcia would want a massive amount of money to fight Brook because of the risk.

Will remember this when Errol Spence team refuses to become kell's mandatory.

Kell winning this WBO gives him a whole lot more power when trying to secure the big names.

Struggling to see how people can say kell shouldn't fight Vargas in June/July.

 

I think the criticism will start if this is PPV- Hearn isn't ruling out DeGale/Jack being PPV. If DeGale wants that fight and doesn't move up.
