Well James Degale continues to be arm...James Degale

People who say Degale is the best SMW atm are on carck! He gasses after RND6 all the time. The fight last night was very close I score 115-113 to JDG against a guy who is a come forward guy and easy to hit.

I thought he'd lost to Andre Direll and draw vs Bute... Cant see what the fuss is about. Smith will stop James and I don't massively rate Smith. I think he will beat jack but just (not a given by any means).

 

So if you dont think degale is the best SMW, and you dont rate smith but thinks he beats jack then who DO you think is the best SMW?

 

Degale showed he was a class apart from Medina but just wasn't able to shut him down, I didn't think it would go the distance after the first 5/6 rounds, can't believe it went the distance, the state of his face compared to Medina showed plenty landed. Smith at this stage in his career would have walked right through the one dimensional Medina

 

I want to see Callumundo smash him to pieces.

 

Its a good fight for smith right now.

I do think people are right degale seems to adjust to his opponent but he's never gonna be building a fan base if he don't start shutting down those people he's clearly much better than

Smith's not even fought anyone in the top 10, put him in with someone decent before shouting his praises.

 

Reminded me of the Hare & tortoise story I've read to my kids. He raced out in front and decided to switch off when he was way ahead before nearly being made to look a bit silly.

Degale is a class operator but needs to be more clinical. It's probably more an attitude thing than a technical thing.

 

He did enough to get the W.

 

Obviously he is tremendously skilful however he doesn't strike me as the sharpest tool in the shed also he has a trainer in his corner who never seems to command him to step up his game when he should during fights.

 

watched the IFL interview with Degale after. Kept saying how surprised he was with his stamina and strength - said he had studied his last six fights and the improvement was too much

not sure if this means Degale/McDonnell underestimated him and had the wrong game plan - putting too much into the early rounds then panicking incase he gassed as usual - or if it was more sinister/too much of a strength and stamina improvement to be normal

 

In my opinion Degale is a 2 minute 12 round fighter, Jim Mac is always overhyping Degales fittness, as if by some pyschosomatic means Deagale's stamina will improve. None of the methods Mac has used has increased Degale's stamina or punching power, indeed in my
opinion Degales performances in his last three fights have shown a progressive decline.

He was fighting a nobody who had heart and guts, its time for him to up the quality. I thought his childish ,sticking out his tongue cr*p was distasteful, could you imagine Joe Louis doing something so classless as that?

 

Everything about DeGale is just slightly off-key. Whatever he says, just slightly comes out wrong. Whatever he does, it just slightly bombs... even when it comes right. Whatever he wins, is just won in a slightly rubbish way. Is he destined to be one of those people who just never quite convert the whole thing? I think so. I assume he's making good money, which is good, but if he weren't such a wrong'un it could be next league stuff.
