A man can dream right? Mayweather is a great fighter going to the Hall of Fame, obviously. But the true legends dare to be great and this would be that kind of fight, the kind that would do monster pay-per-view numbers. For those who say Mayweather is too small, nonsense. Remember when Sugar Ray Leonard came out of a three-year retirement and moved from welterweight up to middleweight and beat Marvin Hagler for the title? That’s what the greats do.
Besides, Golovkin has said repeatedly he would come down in weight. They could do it at 155 and give Mayweather the chance to win a middleweight title to give him titles in six weight classes. Only two fighters have ever done that – Pacquiao (eight) and Oscar De La Hoya (six).
Don’t count on it though. Mayweather would probably rather have his fingernails ripped out than get into the ring with a destroyer like Golovkin, who can punch and box. Mayweather made that much clear, telling Gray, “I think that it's best that (Golovkin) go up and fight (light heavyweight) Andre Ward. I think that would be a good fight for Triple G and Andre Ward.”

in other words are you crazy

he wants ggg to go up 2 weight classes but he wont consider facing ggg coming down from j mw where mayweather has been champion

how can he? His Mandatory has been ducking him for a year. Saunders didn't want to get KOed for 3 mil. What is he supposed to do?

I forget that many of you don't want to see GGG fight Canelo, Saunders, or Jacobs because you know what will happen. Just own up to it.

I'm convinced fat Dan is just as dumb as some of the posters here. Dare to be great? Are you kidding me? Pbf has fought at 5 weights against elite comp he's 39 with nothing left to prove the best of this era but he needs to dare to be great. Ggg doesn't have one fighter of note on his resume has never moved up on weight but he doesn't challenge ggg to fight ward move up and dare to be great. The double standards are too much to bear.

Hagler never moved up and with Ward fighting Kovalev how is GGG going to move up? Especially with the Canelo situation unresolved. Look how long it took Ward to move up and when he did he did it against handpicked opponents at 'catchweights'. Let see what happens in the Fall. Pretty hard for GGG to be 'great' when the other titlist other than Lemeiux are scared to fight the guy. The WBA is going to order the Jacobs fight if Canelo ducks GGG. Lets see how Jacobs reacts. I don't think he will be too keen on taking that fight.

what kind of nonsense is this? hes fought one cw fight after a 19 month layoff! lol

how long it took ward to move up? well it sure didn't take him 35 fights...that's for damn sure

    more nonsense by you

nobody expect ggg to move up..ward is gone now...but did fat Daniel ever criticize ggg for not making the fight when he could have last year or early this year?

floyd has already beaten the best at 5 weight classes. how is it daring to be great by fighting a mw? why the fk don't rafael tell ggg to dare to be great by fighting lara a guy in a weight class lower than him? why don't he tell ggg to dare to be great by dropping 5 lbs and fighting canelo? ggg won't even fight degale.

and the thing is, let's say floyd does come back and fights ggg and floyd beats that ass....know what fat dan is gonna say? "it doesn't prove anythiing because ggg was an unproven fighter who never beat a top level opponent..." nothing but a lose-lose proposition for floyd.

Duran fought Iran Barkley at 160 at the age of 38. Granted Iran is no Golovkin but that's the difference between saying you are great and going out and proving that you are great.

The difference is that Hagler fought ATG fighters in SRL Hearns Duran and beat a monster in Mugabi. THE MW division wasn't as weak like it is now with GGG. If GGG fought ATG fighters like these we wouldn't even be having this discussion.

Why don't you ask the same of GGG as you ask of PBF? PBF is already proven greatness through 5 weight classes the best fighter of this era he's has nothing left to prove.:deal GGG does yet you don't ask him to prove anything? Why is that? The double standards you guys have are ridiculous you can't have it both ways. You can't say PBF must dare to be great, move up yet again, but are fine with GGG staying in a weak division at 160 never doing the same.:deal
