Tiger was proven in the fire many times over, he beat great punchers, crafty box fighters ,sluggers, and maulers.Only slick boxers gave him trouble. Come forward scr*ppers were his meat.
Tiger, Africa's greatest fighter, would be my pick. He was an undisputed World champion in 2 divisions in a competitive era. Successful on both sides of the Atlantic, a man of immense character he persevered despite losing many questionable decisions. It took the TNT left hook of Bob Foster to inflict his only stoppage defeat at the end of a long, hard career. Darcy, going by the footage was not a fancy dan. Bad news for him, as I think Tiger would have counter punched him silly for a stoppage win.
I'm not downplaying Darcy here, the limited stuff I've seen of him on film I think is very impressive, but that's a helluva statement, especially regarding a fighter like **** Tiger.
