Tonight in Philly, the man called "The Killer" by his fans (or "The Frog" by the other 99% of the boxing community) fought 23-20-3 Eduardo "Cheíto" Flores and took a unanimous decision with scores of 60-54 x3. Cheíto has been stopped thrice in just over a year (since last February) and six times in total in his career, and down oodles - but didn't leave his feet in his loss to someone hailed once as "the most feared puncher at welterweight". This was a junior middleweight contest.

Cintrón wasn't even headlining the card; he was playing 2nd fiddle to an 8-rounder (Brooker vs. Aikens in a Philadelphia/Jersey regional prospect match-up at super middle). How the mighty have fallen. :!:

Ah, I saw that this was happening a few days ago and was surprised. Such an under the radar fight that not a soul had any interest in

Earlier on the undercard (directly before Cintrón vs. Flores, actually) former internet boxing video upload database guru - and potential future professional opponent for IB! - "SweetBoxing" aka Ryan Bivins fought in a 4-rounder, losing a UD to Aaron Brooks in the latter's debut and falling to 0-1-2.

Here is how irrelevant Cintrón is now:

Bivins has enough friends in the online boxing fraternity that someone cared enough to live-tweet a Periscope feed of most of his match with Brooks.

There is no footage of Cintrón vs. Flores, and likely isn't going to be (it's now been a couple of hours since it ended; if anybody had recorded it and were going to upload they probably would've by now). Certainly nobody bothered to stream it live.

Good for Cintron. He left too young anyway and still has a good name in boxing. A good name is like a credit card. Mosley, Margarito and Cintron could make good money fighting each other or a few lower tier guys then move on to a money making fight so that a guy can have a big name on his resume.

It worked for Foreman and Duran.

I think he just went for it, like me.

...though he is younger by a few years (will be 30 in a few weeks, turned pro at 28...)

I want Collazo, Quintana and Cintrón - along with, uh, I guess Felix Flores just to make it an even number? - to have a little tourney of past-prime welters that lived in Cotto's shadow in that late-aught era when they were at their best.

I always used to mistakenly think he was Puerto Rican too!!![emoji38]
(mainly because for a while there it became a pastime of Margarito's to pound boricuas' faces to a pulp...but he also liked whooping Argies, like a green Maravilla and..Lujan, famously, with the ear-rip)

I stand corrected- the entire card was broadcast on GFL.TV, apparently (meaning it was a $15 online PPV) - so there should be video there for all curious about how Cintrón looks to see.

Of course, you have to still pay $15 even for the replays on GFL, so let's see how many people are willing to pony up for the privilege of watching Cintrón even after knowing the result. (and the fact that it doesn't even involve a KO - or any KD's! :hey)

He'll be headlining an HBO PPV with Victor Ortiz by Cinco de Mayo of 2017, I'm sure. :verysad
