Clear win for Lara, I don't get anyone having it the other way.

 

Nah!, it was not clear. I think that lara won, but I understand people saying lara lost. It COULD have been very clear, but it wasnt because lara didnt want it.

 

Put up a poll and you'll see the only people scoring it for Canelo are jingoistic Mexicans, or haters of defensive styles of boxing in general (the same ones that used to deride movers like Joan Guzman, Ivan Calderón and Cory Spinks as "heartless runners" :-()

 

Anyone can run around the ring and makes the guy chase you and occasionally walk him into a counter shot. That isn't boxing.

Thought Lara won live but didn't score. scored semi recently in the score a fight thread think I had a draw

 

i rematched it today and it was close
i think canelo edged it on work rate

 

Lara was ripped off. He won 8 rds. His lateral movement troubled Alvarez to the point where Alvarez got frustrated at following him from side to side unable to land cleanly. Despite what a lot of people think Alvarez is not skilled at cutting off the ring. It was clear Alvarez's corner told him to go for the body after 4 rds. This was the only time he was effective but he laid off after a couple of rds and didn't pick it up again in the last couple. Alvarez hardly landed a descent shot to Lara's head in the whole fight. All the great mexican sluggers have trouble with guys who are fast, move well and can box.

 

Na Lara literally turned his back and ran at one point I usually agree with you IB just can't this time

 

Tbf yes he did at times but not the whole time.

 

Live, I had it for Lara by a slight edge. Rewatching it, I would be ok with a draw.
