Canelo has no interest in GGG. Why take a fight you'll lose when you can make millions fighting bums like Khan?
Probably because they wanted to make the fight at 154 and also because Canelo was insistent that there was no rehydration clause. He also had a rematch clause in case Khan won. Point is they had it all their way against Khan so Khan was saying now it's time for Canelo to do the right thing and fight Golovkin at 160. Virgil is a boxing man. Golovkin wanted no piece of Ward either at 168 despite offering Carl Froch out at the same weight. So he probably had a vested interest in seeing the right thing happen in the MW division with the two men fighting at 160. I liked it. They put him on the spot. Kellerman should have brought Golovkin in to speak with Canelo like Jim Gray did with Fury and Wilder.
Because Khan stepped up against the odds, and to be fair to him he put up a decent enough performance, now canelo needs to man up and fight ggg
I thought it was weird too. Why did it bother them so much to say it immediately.. I think they were just bitter about getting knocked cold out, and now want to see Alvarez get KO'd.
It was their way of saving face to some extent. After losing in the manner in which he did, he was basically saying "but at least I took the risk" something Canelo hasn't done until he fights Golovkin. Some people react differently to defeat. Khan and Hunter went on the attack - they couldn't beat him, but they could try to discredit him. It also reminds those who chose to kick Khan once he was down that he was the underdog, in a fight he was expected to lose.
I thought he sounded a bit bitter that he'd just been added to another highlight reel KO. He looked like he was ready to burst into tears, for that second reality actually dawned on him that he is far from elite. Sadly he's slept since then and the delusion he has of himself being a great fighter has come back with a vengeance.
Yeah that's the reason. Khan and virgil seemed upset that they didn't get anything they wanted. Still it was pretty pathetic to start saying canelo should fight GGG after you have been knocked out. Came across as being very bitter
It was pre planned. They did it to save face. What better way than to try and degrade the man who just kytfo.
It was to make Khan look better, meaning a fighter of his weight should not be mixing with heavier guys like Canelo and GGG. Also probably because like the rest of us, he wants to see the fight.
To be fair I think Canelo would fight GGG, the problem is Oscar De La Hoya. No way will he put his boy in there with GGG. Canelo is his *****, gimp, cash cow. He doesn't want to risk him.
