How is a guy whose whole game plan is to outbox you a bad match up for a superior boxer? It doesn't make sense unless of course you think khan is the superior boxer to pbf and I know you don't think that??? Lmfao

In no way did Floyd look faster than Pac in their fight. He has better reflexes, but his hands did not look fasted. They were about equal.

It doesn't make any sense to me either. If Khan was a fighter with freakish KO power or who was freakishly tall with a longer reach, than maybe he'd have something serious that offsets Floyd's clear advantages in skills and intelligence, but he doesn't. Khan isn't some modern day version of Tommy Hearns.

The only guys Khan has ever looked tremendous against were Malignaggi, Kotelnik, and an older Judah. On the flip-side he has struggled with guys like Peterson, Algieri, Garcia, and Maiadana.

    But he's a bad match-up for Floyd????

His hands were a bit faster, especially early on. But the mega difference in speed was obvious - foot speed (and overall footwork, additionally).

Floyd's feet looked exceptionally quick, and Pacquiao looked like he was weighted down with lead boots.

Diosbelys Hurtado was beating Whittaker on points pretty clearly until he got KOd. Khan's speed, reach and height could trouble Mayweather. He doesn't have to be a better boxer. I don't think Khan would beat Mayweather by the way, just saying it's not that simple.

I don't get it either. He's actually just the opposite tailor made for him really. His speed and combos have a lot of guys fooled making it seem better than he really is. When in fact he's very basic with no plan b **** footwork and defense and can't fight on the inside. He's pretty much easy work for elite fighters.

He looked faster if both foot and handspeed in that fight. What were you watching?

I can't believe Khan's defense is STILL as bad as it was last night.

He just never learns. The problem isn't the trainer, the problem is HIM.

    "Khan's reach would trouble Floyd".

Garcia and Canelo have shorter reaches than Khan, and they were able to time and counter him. Floyd actually has the longer reach.

Like him or hate him, Mayweather is a legitimate ATG. Like him or hate him, Amir Khan is a good fighter with great handspeed, nothing more, nothing less. Throughout his whole career, Khan's fans (as well as Khan himself) have hyped him to the max, contrary to what has actually transpired in the ring. I'll never forget how Dave Parriss made a mockery of the sport(as usual) when Khan fought an ancient, bloated MAB. Even in crushing defeat, Khan's fans overrate their hero.

Why let the truth get in the way when there is still a Khan to overhype?

    Boxrec lists Khan's reach at 71, Mayweather's at 72.

Khan is taller though, boxrec lists him at 5'8" 1/2, but I think that's wrong. They list Canelo at 5'9", but clearly in the ring Khan looks the taller fighter.

The better fighters Mayweather has fought at welter don't belong in the weight division. Marquez and Pacquiao would not compete at the weight against the atg welters. Plus both Marquez and Pacquiao are small and height with only a 67 inch reach.
A lot easier to lean back to avoid a Marquez or Pacquiao punch with their size and reach, than it would be to avoid fast incoming from Amir Khan who is taller and has virtually the same reach Mayweather has.

Styles make fights, people don't think that applies to Mayweather.

Iran Barkley sparked Hearns in 3 and then beat him in a decision in the rematch.
Roberto Duran who was brutally knocked out by Hearns beat Barkley in a decision. Duran did much better than what Hearns could do and it all relates to style issues.
Duran couldn't lay a glove on Hearns because he was to small and didn't have anywhere near the reach Barkley had.
Barkley who could not be mistaken for great, took care of Hearns.

Styles make fights and that goes for any fighter who ever laced them up which included Floyd Mayweather.

Floyd would time Khan after 3 rounds.
