Cant watch the vid right now but at this moment its 50/50 wether this fight happens or not. I dont care what Canelo or Oscar says when asked questions in a Boxing ring after that fight, they were only ever guna say one thing cuz they knew EVERYBODY was listening.

Oscar has always played this out with money as his agenda, Canelo wins stock goes up, Canelo loses stock goes down. Canelo doesnt fight and gives up the belt stock goes down. Canelo does face GGG and loses stock goes down but with a hell of alot of money. So it would make money sense for the fight to happen, its a massive fight. And with the WBC talking strong at the minute about this mandatory fight that belt is guna be taken off him one way or another, may aswell lose it earning big bucks. Im not convinced they wana throw him in with any real Middleweight.

But only a week or 2 ago Canelo was saying GGG hasnt fought the competition to ******t a fight with him, also remained firm on the 155 thing and Oscar is still talking ifs and whens and is talking about atleast 3 other options for summer. Talk like that doesnt bode too well for this fight being made.

All those fights are unlikely IMO and also, not so interesting. GGG looks like really the best choice both competitively and in terms of career money fight, the only problem is the risk-reward factor and how they feel about their chances of coming away with a win. It'd be huge, look at this forum, 90% of the posts are about the two guys and their fight.

If Canelo doesn't fight GGG next - regardless of the opponent - he will be stripped. You may not want to believe it, but it's undoubtedly the truth at this point. There's no way they couldn't unless another step-aside from K2's side is agreed to. The WBC has been vocal on their position, just sent out the issuing statement to Canelo this morning. Mauricio has done a fantastic job handling this. I'm hard pressed to find people who doubt the WBC at this point besides some fans.

Canelo won't be fighting Pacquiao, Mayweather, or Cotto. Freddie shut down Pacquiao talk saying he'll never let Pacquiao get in the ring with Canelo, not even with a catchweight, after witnessing the knockout. Plus, he was just elected Senator today.

ODLH shut down talks with Cotto at the post-fight presser, saying they haven't talked to Roc Nation about a rematch, have no reason to talk to Roc Nation, and that Cotto isn't even in the equation for Canelo's next opponent.

And I'm hard pressed to believe Mayweather would fight Canelo at 155 after being vocal on how he can't make that weight. Mayweather got him at the right time when the risk wasn't too high. At this point, even though I believe Mayweather would outbox him again, he probably looks at Canelo and sees he's a much improved fighter and a much bigger fighter than they first met. In other words, too risky. He'd much rather face Pacquiao who'd get him more money and his the much smaller opponent.

I'm in agreement with Max Kellerman on this. Canelo is literally in the ring, declaring war on GGG. Every media and fan is demanding GGG. Even the opponent after he was knocked out demanded he fight GGG! Taking into account how Canelo strugged to make 155 for this fight, the WBC's order to fight GGG or be stripped, and not many opponent options for Canelo... it's not hard to see the timetable for Canelo/GGG has been sped up. It is more of a question of how Canelo could avoid not fighting GGG in the fall than vice versa.

Yeah, and here's another thought, If Canelo went against GGG with his A game and fought like the true Mexican warrior that he claims to be, win or lose, his stock would rise. It could be a win win situation for him. Oscar is making a big mistake by prolonging this fight. Oscar has his own agenda and he shouldn't let it get in the way of Canelo's career.

Did you notice how they were trying to stop Virgil from talking? You can see a hand on Virgils arms and he just shook it off.

Somebody is behind him trying to pull him away. I saw him talking with Golovkin and Sanchez when Canelo was giving his interview.

Theres a lot to be said for body language.

Look at the video at 22 seconds in. El Pollo is asked if he will face GGG and immediately shakes his head no. It's an unconscious move, he knows he aint fighting no god damn GGG.

WBC won't give their blessing to Canelo whether it's Pacquiao, Cotto or Mayweather in question. No chance, because WBC loses on count to K2 if they do, simple.

WBC will 100% enforce the fight if GGG insists on it. People get carried too much by media stunts and don't read the rules that much.

    Good video though.

Agreed. But it seems he's reached the point where, sooner or later, it's either the slaughterhouse or the chicken coop.

    Thanks, Doc. :good

I definitely think 155 is putting undue stress on Canelo's body, and I think we saw some consequences of that in the Khan fight. Perhaps only minor indications, but I think some signs were there that go beyond Canelo's issues with hand speed.

But Canelo is a pretty sharp dude when it comes to making small adjustments, and he's capable of setting some nice traps, too.

As for a collage of his weigh-ins, I do wonder which fight showed the most extreme change. Without knowing for sure, I'd guess it may have been between the Cotto and Khan fights.

Agreed pretty much with all of this.

I think it's also obvious that Canelo isn't quite good enough or big enough that it's a guarantee he beats every middleweight not named Golovkin. So if his options exclude the 3 cash cows (2 of whom are supposedly retired), I think Golovkin is his best bet now. The tide seems to be shifting that direction for sure.
