Exactly... his jab and control of distance in the DL fight was very impressive. I think Canelo would bring out a version of 3G we haven't seen yet .

    Absolutely!!

Canelo is an accurate Counter Puncher with very respectable POWER.

We all know that Canelo's limitations, and we know his skills and natural talent.

Canelo has trouble with fighters fighting off the back foot, similar to how Juan Manuel Marquez has problems with similar fighters. They are both terrific counter punchers.

Everytime Canelo has fought a slick fighter like Lara, Trout, Mayweather, and to a degree Khan (for the first 3 rounds), he's had a hard time connecting since again, he is naturally a counter puncher and excels when they bring the fight to him.

Counter Punchers usually have good defense and Canelo is no exception. We all know Canelo moves his head and waist well, he avoids jabs fairly well with his movement.

As Kellerman mentioned Golovkin likes to come forward, and Canelo thrives when his opponents come to him, on the same token GGG thrives when his C level bums stand in front of him, unfortunately for GGG, Canelo is no bum and is probably the most accurate puncher he has faced, along with the best defensive fighter he will have faced, not to mention his explosiveness.

You can watch GGG vs Monroe and see a lot of GGG's strengths and weaknesses come up there. Anyone that says that he was not bothered by Monroe's punches is fooling themselves.

The right hand that knocked out Khan would hurt any body including GGG.

Because those same fans know Canelo is bigger than GGG and the only reason he gets down to 155 is because of his age but if he was GGG'S age he couldn't or wouldn't get below 160

By my calculations, collectively Floyd, Trout and Lara smacked him in the chops with approx 8 million jabs.

*I actually agree with your main point though, GGG isn't the worst style match up for Canelo. He's just much, much better than him.

I'm so tired of garbage catch weights, triple G is going to get this fight at 160 because he is the mandatory for Canelo's title. It's not hard to figure out. Triple G is going to get the fight at 160 as he rightfully should any is going to win the fight. Canelo bloats up to 170+ pounds yet he wants to cling on to this 155 pound nonsense.

Damn straight it would, and anyone saying otherwise is lying to themselves.

It was perfect feint that allowed the shot to get in.

Going back to Canelo's chances, we should be unbias and call it like it is. Canelo is fighting the biggest puncher of his career, and GGG is fighting the most skilled fighter of his career.

GGG brings those powerful short hooks, while Canelo is bringing a defense and counter punching ability he has never seen.

GGG likes to open up, even predictable Lemieux got a few shots in, Monroe teed of on GGG and stopped him in his tracks on more than one occassion, GGG can't afford to make mistakes with a highly skilled counter puncher like Alvarez, he will catch you and make you pay.

And please don't bring up the Floyd fight, GGG is not slick like Floyd, or Lara, or Trout, or even Cotto for that matter, he isn't fighting on his toes which is the only style of boxing we've seen give Canelo a bit of a tough time.

IsaL how about a small friendly wager? We each bet $100 on our fighter and post the pic of the slip?

Canelo is far better than anybody GGG has faced. That said,GGG probably wins. However, all those guys saying that it's a mismatch are underestimating Alvarez, imo.
