Anyone else heard the rumour that Lewis Ritson has upped sticks and headed back to the North East of England? Not sure the ins and outs of the situation but it was my mate from Newcastle that mentioned it when I was down there at the weekend.

Billy really rated him and I saw him once or twice in Glasgow and he looked a decent prospect that could have won a British and maybe more if he was brought up the right way. Shame if he has left Billy but does anyone know if this is true? And if it is what the reasons behind the split were? :good

If he was smart he'd leave Billy.

It's no coincidence that Billy doesn't train a single decent boxer.

I've only joined this forum but I have always looked through to see what was happening, i was more of a fan of boxrec forums tbh but they are not as good anymore.

if that really is Lewis Ritson it would be great to hear from the horses mouth, Billy used to post on the other forum too but I haven't seen him on there for ages either but I think he still posts on here.

Someone was pretending to be Solaris posting as Lewis Ritson.

It was all very tedious and was when this forum was at one of it's lowest points... Which is saying something.

Why is that? Billy has proved to be a good trainer and has had some very good boys come through his gym, I know not all of them have worked out but that can't all be down to just Billy.

Lewis Ritson was/is decent and Billy has had him from the start of his pro career. Brophy could still prove to be decent, he was well out of his depth against George Groves but with the exception of Deagle, C Smith and Murray every other Super Middleweight in the UK would be out of their depth against George.

I've heard he has Stevie Simmons back training with him too and he could easily pick up a British title at least imo.

Yes Lewis is going back home after his holiday in Mexico, I'm gutted as I totally beleive he could be a special fighter but he's a young man living up here and his family and friends live in Newcastle.
I can only wish Lewis nothing but good luck in his career, he is a smashing lad 👊👍

Hi mate, there is another rumour going around that although he missed being at home with his family that he was unhappy with his last fight? Something to do with Lock Stock Promotions and cutting his purse for the fight?

Probably just a rumour but my mate from Newcastle seemed pretty sure that this was the case?

I hope not because the last thing we need in Scotland is a promotional outfit acting like that because our sport is already low enough with the lack of classy operators.

Are you still Lewis manager Billy ? If so are you still after the O'Hara Davis fight for him? Good fight. Any word on who he is getting to train him in North East? Can't think of top pro trainers from there.

I train with Ronnie Rowe at the fighting chance just been sparring Jon-Lewis ****inson earlier. Not heard anything about this Lewis Ritson story but I'm sure he would be welcomed by the team which is one of the best in the country.

There are a lot of good trainers in the North East but most stay in the amateur game. Birtley boxing club is probably the most successful club in the country for amateur boxing and has been for the last 5 years.

I don't know Lewis Ritson personally only met him once or twice, I know his dad David Ritson a little better. If I recall he got in the ABA finals a few years ago and only lost on a very tight decision.
