Are you throwing Makabu under the bus with Charles Martin & Barroso if Bellew wins?

Don't worry Makabu will win, he's levels above Bellew and his best win Thabiso Mchunu is also levels above Bellew. Barroso had a big win over Mitchell and fought intelligently, he went into the Crolla match with the wrong gameplan, and Martin showed up for a paycheck, Makabu is a legit monster.

 

He's an incredibly intelligent fighter, that ain't going to happen. Makabu actually reminds me of James Toney. Bellew is a step down for him. More bad news for Bellew like Stevenson Makabu is a southpaw KO artist, that didn't work out very well for Tony the last time did it? And Makabu most likely hits far harder than Stevenson.

 

In fact I'd put money on both Kucher and Mchunu beating Bellew's ass from one side of the ring to the other.

 

I'll give Bellew credit if he beats him because Makabu is damned good fighter. I'll be very surprised if he does though. Makabu is going to be too skillful and powerful for him IMO and he's going to catch him and get him out of there. Bellew can bang with that left hand of is and he can box pretty well when he wants to. I don't like him at all but he isn't a bum. He beat Masternak (albeit very close) and Masternak is a solid top 10-15 type of guy whose only legit losses have come against the excellent Drozd and he also lost a close one to Kalenga who is crude but teak-tough and powerful and very dangerous. The Kalenga fight was very close too.

Makabu is one of the best fighters in the division, a talent packed division with a lot of very dangerous customers in it, and the only opponent who was able to see it through to the final bell against him is Dmytro Kucher who has one, if not the, best chins in the division. Bellew will be on his back talking a long snooze if he gets caught clean with a fraction of the shots Kucher got caught with and Makabu is too skillful for that not to happen.
