I mean, if Wladimir loses again vs Fury (who is for my point of view one of the worst Heavyweghts Champions ever) How it will affect his legacy?
I think Wlad is a solid 10-14 HW ATG. Tough to find many men who did better than him all through their career. If Wlad wins and can get 1-2 more wins under his belt and retires on a win then its tough to deny him a spot around 6-10 IMO.
He's already in my top 10 and nothing can remove him at this point. He is 40 years old. Went undefeated for a decade took on all comers (except brother of course) most title fight wins, 3rd most consecutive, second longest reign in years ever. Hard to not have him on top 10.
Really? Fury is the worst cHamp ever? You are a disgrace. He is easily top 20 all time head to head. Ancient midgets wouldn't be able to hurt the tower of Fury and would all succumb to his sheer willpower. I can only think of 10 or so champs that would be able to beat him in his prime, and the only absolute favorites against him H2h would be guys like Lewis and Don Vito
Win or lose he's still a top 10 lock for me. At 40 yrs old and entering his 29th world title fight (more than any HW champ in history) he's clearly well past his prime. Still if he can mount one last spirited effort he can definitely beat a crude oaf like "too fat" Fury.
Some of the comments in this thread made me dumber. As some have said however, WK already proved himself as an ATG - times change, it's hard to say how much he may have slipped but either way Fury deserves the title... WK is still no push over, whether or not he is as good as he was.
This. Wlad is in the position where practically everything that he does will improve his legacy, but losses at this point do little to dent it. Sort of like old man Hopkins going on the rampage through the ranks on his walker
It won't change a thing, I'll say Wlad was shot to hell and forget either Fury ever happened. Presto....just like that, gone from my memory bank.:smile
