I'd say Bowe is the most skilled. Not the best, though. The intangibles let Bowe down.

Bowe's porous defense and failure to understand his inherent advantages let him down.

Still, he had some nice skills, even if he couldn't throw a straight right.

 

Big Time instead of Tyson Fury?

 

Going back and forth but I'm leaning toward Lennox (during the second half of his career). Bowe was probably a sharper puncher but I think that Lewis probably had a more sophisticated overall repertoire.

 

Depends on what you mean by skills?

On offense, likely Lewis. He was versatile. On defense, likely Vitali. Mobile, hard to catch, moved around quickly for his size.

If skills = the ability to outbox all opponents, seldom losing a round even vs. the best, I'd say Vitali

Versitaltiy on offense in terms of punches is Lewis

Defense and countering, the hardest to out land and outbox it would be Vitali.

 

I really liked fearlessearly Wlad. The current version not so much but it can't be denied that he is effective. Also, where's Tyson Fury? He's gotta be better than McCline

Wlad needs to get back to letting his hands go. Double jabs when working his way in. More hooks too. He should make the adjustments. It's not like Fury is an excellent counter guy.

I'm luke warm on his trainer. If Steward was in the corner that night, he'd wake Wlad up from the sleep walking, and least I think he would have.

 

Nikolay Valuev is a P4P ATG. He was a slick technician with the highest ring IQ in the game, if he didn't have that awkward height and weight slowing him down he would have went down a consensus top 10 HW of all time. They didn't have a proper division for him, he would have dominated everyone of his size.

 

I guess he has everyone beat on body hair as well. And he might have had the biggest head in the history of the game.
