Povetkin used meldonium before it was a banned substance, fight will happen

Promoter Andrei Ryabinsky tells Russia's state Tass news agency that Povetkin tested positive for meldonium, the same substance found in Maria Sharapova's sample at the Australian Open.
Ryabinsky says Povetkin took meldonium last year but stopped before it was banned on Jan. 1, and only "leftover traces of meldonium at a very low concentration" were found in a blood sample given by Povetkin last month.


Athletes in several sports have avoided suspensions for meldonium positives under new World Anti-Doping Agency guidance issued in April if the concentration of the banned heart drug is low enough to indicate they did not take it after Jan. 1.

Povetkin and Wilder are due to fight next week in Moscow.

 

So all the Wilder fans who are so happy about the news that Wilder wouldn't get KTFO, are wrong. Povetkin will fight Wilder and destroy him, he is a clean fighter.

And even if it comes out to be trace elements, wilder should still scream cheating. Once you say it enough it will become fact in the public conscience.

 

It's essentially creatine and offers almost no benefit or advantage in boxing, and is debated for that reason as to whether it should be on the list. It's nothing. It's marketed and sold in Eastern European cohntries, which is why they're the ones who are using it.
