You joke about Manute but imagine Hakeem Olajuwon and David Robinson as heavyweights...

 

Speed and power are more a matter of "talent" than "skill," imo. I think of skill as encompassing breadth and refinement of technique. Also involves having the smarts to negate your opponents' strengths and strategies, and to make adjustments when beneficial.

Wlad is a tough case. At his best, he relied upon a relatively limited set of skills that Manny designed to accentuate his strengths and hide his weaknesses but he executed them very well (if a bit robotically) with help from overly tolerant referees.

 

In terms of textbook boxing technique it's Bowe hands down. Then "skill" is of course a quite loose term. The Klit brothers were very skilled at making the most of a limited repertoire. Lewis was skilled at using his size and power to go on offense when needed and defense when needed.

 

I put it between Lennox and Rid****.
Hard to separate them imo ,self discipline made the difference to their careers ,imo

 

I'm down to the same two. Bowe was a very good infighter for such a big man too.

 

He was even better at getting tagged inside other, shorter guys' range when he should have maintained distance.

If you mean most skilled HW over 6 5 then say so. Obviously its a tiny talent pool.

 

Yes, he neglected to utilize his adavantages at times but he sure was good on the inside for his size, it was freaky. He did plenty of damage in there too.

It never really cost him either, he only ever lost one fight. He seemed to quite like that close warfare.

He sure as sh!t got tagged. And he didn't fight the greatest lineup of opposition outside Holy. And when Golota is schooling you, time to ask yourself some questions.

The ultimate monster IMO would be LeBron James.
