Lemieux would be a good fight-test for Canelo @ 160 lbs before the fight with GGG. Meanwhile GGG could fight Saunders, Eubank Jr or Heiland.

The fight will have to happen on cinco de Mayo 2017. Until then the hype and the demand of this fight will go through the roof with the condition that both fighters to win and look good in their next fights.

Imo, if Canelo was going to fight someone like Lemieux to get ready for GGG, he should've done that on May 7th this year, instead of Amir Khan. I don't wanna wait til next freaking year for the showdown. I want the fight now.

Me too but I'd be fine with this scenario. Don't know why but I think all this negotiation talk is just dust in the wind.:think

Canelo needs to swallow his pride , drop the belt and make some fights at 157 and 160, maybe ggg will have completed his mw goals by then.

Ggg ain't leaving mw until all the records are his

Canelo, the MW Champ of the World needs tune ups prior to facing his lower-level mandatory. The hell is the matter with boxing and fans today?

well, GGG vs Canelo in this day and age is considered a mega fight, so having a tune-up vs a fighter same size who everyone knows you will beat is pretty common.

Unlike Floyd, who decides to take on a legit bum tune-up opponent as his fairwell fight.

Yeah but he was already given than chance and he picked Khan instead of a proper middleweight, so tough luck, no more tune ups. He will fight Tribal Gee or give up the belt.

What is Canelo still green? Isn't it time he go right to the big show? Didn't he just have a tune up with Khan. How many tune ups does he need? Until their both 35yr?

He should just give up the belt, you're right.

Canelo has had long enough to move up to the limit, he just knocked out a brittle jawed welterweight, why didn't he take a full middleweight?

No more "one more fight" or this "Canelo should have a little test at the full 160"

Canel either fights Golovkin or gets stripped, Canelo gets humiliated, mugged and hands over his shiny belt.

Lemieux will get his chance at destroying Canelo later :thumbsup

as long as its at 160, I'd love to see this fight. More so than GGG vs canelo.
