Lots of guys are claiming that it was Deontay's fault that the fight was cancelled and not the guy who was busted for performance enhancers.

    Let's get it cleared up.

I want to see who the morons are.

Anyone who says anything but povetkin can't be taken seriously and should be either banned or placed on an ignore list for the sake of the forum.

    Obviously Povetikin

He POVETKIN cheated all of us, the fans..

Wilder would've sparked his ass out and it sucks that AP thought he needed to cheat!

Povetkin clearly...but in no way shape or form would I have let trace amounts of meldonium deprive me of $6 million dollars.

I would have negotiated a penalty and bet on myself to beat him anyway and then use the cheating to market myself after.

Both. Wilder could've easily asked to go through with the fight since Povetkin had no actual advantage with this substance. He chose not to.

Povetkin decided to knowingly take a banned substance in minute amounts hoping to gain an edge and put the fight, and his career, in jeopardy because he is a dip****.

And why are you under the assumption that the WBC would have let the fight go on? You know how much flack they would get to let a title fight proceed when one part is obviously on peds?

I assume that because the amount was so low and the substance itself so inconsequential that if their Champion wanted to go through with the fight they would've been all for it.
Since Wilders team sent the WBC a letter saying they aren't going through with the fight and caught a flight home immediately we will never know for sure what the WBC would've done had Deontay believed he would win and went through with the fight.

The WBC already stated "The fight MUST be on an equal playing field"

It already tells us what we need to know.

Wilder actually waited until WBC's decision before boarding back to Bama. He was going to fly to Russia this morning.

What were his cries to the WBC?

Its against the rules for somebody to box under the influence of PEDs you fool.

The commission and governing bodies rule these things , not the fighters
