Anyone know what the normal protocol is for this? Under what circumstances are the B samples checked, and what is the normal timeline on such a thing?
I think the caught fighter has to agree for the B sample to be ****yzed. I haven't heard form Rabyinski or Povetkin if they agree to that.
Yeah - I thought I read something over at ESPN that mentioned something along the lines of Povetkin not appealing to have his B-sample tested. I guess that would seem odd to me, but again - I'm not overly familiar with the normal protocol regarding how these types of things go down.
During a doping control exam, two samples of x type are taken, an a and b sample. B sample testing only happens when the person disputes the result due to a mistake. It's all logistical at this point. If he's not disputing it then he knows the b sample is going to be positive lol. You can read what you want from that.
I remember Teper was asked to have his B sample tested and he declined so it was never checked. I am not an expert in these proceedings but there's reason to believe the B sample acts as a sort of remedy for fighters who want to appeal. If they don't appeal it won't be checked.
No need, he passed the first time too. It's just a lame excuse for team Donkey and WBC to protect that glass jaw Fraud from getting his head ripped off
There is no legal limit. Any amount triggers an anti-doping violation. Povetkin's amount is within the appealable limit, but he would have to demonstrate that it was from use prior to January 2016. His team claims they can do that but the preceding positive tests indicate this would be difficult, as does the disinterest in testing the B sample.
