    Perhaps he would be wise to take on a couple of career MWs first - except that he's the recognised MW Lineal and WBC champ and GGGs his Mando.

    No one can force him to fight GGG as his first legitimate 160 opponent, but if he ain't going to he needs to drop the strap.

    Yep. Canelo has two options:

    1) Fight GGG now.

    2) Drop the strap, fight Lemieux/Stevens while GGG fights Jacobs or BJS, and fight in 2017.

    GGG better not accept a step-aside fee again though, that would just be silly.

    these guys go on and on about how Lemieux and stevens are actually good and that ggg is just so good he makes real good fighters look like trash

    then ggg even says "canelo never faced an actual mw"....and the fanboys say "canelo couldn't make it through even half of gggs resume with getting ko'd"..

    and heres canelo maybe facing one of lil g's recent opponents potentially at 160 and yer making fun of him....unreal

    He could have fought a real middleweight last time but he took on a Tomato Khan instead. So yes, it is fair.

    I think at this point Oscar is going to concede the belt to GGG then try and make the fight for May or September 2017. That is if his plan doesn't blow up in his face and Canelo gets KOed.
