Sparring partners seem to agree that GGG hits like a heavyweight, imo Hughie represents an average punching power heavy, could GGG hit harder than Hughie. Obviously Hughie would box GGG's head in, but GGG walks around @ 175-180 and is a monster puncher @ 160?
id say hughie if he got his bodyweight transferred in properly you see not every punch you throw is your best connecting punch but maybe golovkin, hes smaller but look how small a bullet is but when it has speed it can kill someone
I say GGG. You can just tell. Hughie punches like he has borrowed arms from someone else and they are being remote controlled by a 7 year old girl.
hang on tho would GGG have the same devestating effect on SMWs or LHWs CWs? martin murray went 11 rounds with triple g.
The physics are complicated. Imagine a 160lb major league pitcher hitting you with a fastball. Now imagine a 400lb woman throwing a baseball at you. There is more than just a persons mass involved. Golf: Mike Dobbyn stands 6'8" and weighs 310 pounds he is a monster in the long drive competitions, the only thing standing in his way is Sadlowsky, who stands 5'10", weighs 165 and crushes it even farther than big Mike. Boxing: My father was a coach for over 20yrs. I've held the heavybag for golden glove champs, national champs, and an olympian. The hardest hitter I've ever been around weighed about 170lb - the heavies didn't come close to the force this guy had. It has a lot to do with technique and also the twitch and tension of your muscle. If you can accelerate and direct your bodies mass into your punch and then tense your whole body like a solid stone at impact - you carry the speed of your fist with the whole mass of your body going into the target. If you are bigger but fat and weak, you can't accelerate your arm or body very fast, and you aren't solid enough to tense up and transfer your impact. Its like hitting somebody with a nerf bat vs. a wooden bat. When people don't believe that a 170lb guy can hit as hard as a 250lb guy, they don't understand physics
Hughie, easily. You think dudes like Murray or Lemieux would have taken Furys shots for 9 and 11 rounds respectively? Please.
Did James Toney start getting Knocked out when he started fighting Heavyweights? No he did not. Rachman, who knocked out Lewis couldn't knock out little James Toney. Your perception is off.
