Floyd needed prime Manny much more than Manny needed prime Floyd

That's what annoys the hell out of Mayweather fans and they have to keep rubbing in a boring UD against a declined undersized fighter.

You see Manny is defined by his fights with prime or near prime ATG's. Barrera, Marquez and Morales defined his career. Mayweather at the end of the day doesn't register on Pacquiao's legacy radar because the fight never happened when it mattered.

Mayweather is known as the guy who should have fought Manny Pacquiao in his prime. And Pacquiao is known as the guy who fought the 3 Mexicans.

Floyd should have beaten a declined undersized opponent which he did in a boring UD. Maybe he still beats a prime Manny (he should be the favorite based on size), but we'll never know.

Mayweather needed Pacquiao much more than Pacquiao needed Mayweather. What is Floyd's defining rivalry prime for prime? Is it Diego Corrales, Jose Luis Castillo, Ricky Hatton? Good solid names, but are they ATG fighters? No they were not. Manny was the ATG who Floyd needed to fight to just give him that one prime name on his resume, win or lose.

So while Floyd finished his career undefeated, Manny finished his with losses, but fought the best at their best.

Pbf didn't need **** he was the best fighter of the era with or without pac. Ring magazine did the story about the best 20 fighters since ww2 pbf was #12 and pac wasn't even ranked. This was before they even fought. You're delusional.

Floyd doesn't have a single prime great on his ledger. He needed Pacquiao to solidify his resume.

Pbf beats everyone on pacs resume and wouldn't need 3 fights with Morales and 4 with jmm to do it.

If that's your true opinion, then that's what it is and no one can or should change it. They tried to make the fight multiple times while both were still in or with fmj still close enough to his prime but for many reasons it failed to mature.

Arum did not want that fight until they had nowhere to go and fmj didn't want it until they, team pac had to beg him, for personal reasons.

We know arum stopped that fight from happening as he had with every top stank fighter around fmj weight. It's hard for some to accept but there's too many new fish in the pond to care anymore

I would hope Floyd does beat everybody on Pacquiao's resume. Floyd's a lightweight and Manny is a featherweight.

And now you're talking about hypothetical.

Beat the best fighters, every top fighter in a 20 year span. If that's not unbelievable and so much superior to what anyone else had done, then nobodys done anything in the sport

Solid points you have brought up, I think most people will remember Manny as the guy who beat the better opposition and took risky fights against top contenders in their prime.

You also fail to accept that fmj and pac were at the exact same point throughout all their years.

This is brilliantly articulated, and it's a shame that you get the likes of PimpC who become too animated and resort to awful arguments.

Pbf pretty much beat every top fighter that was available from 154 to 130 he can't fight everyone.

You're a self admitted pbf hater you have no credibility when discussing him.

Pacquiao at 24 was fighting at 122 and Mayweather at 24 was fighting at 130 pounds.

Pacquiao at 29 was fighting at 130 pounds. Mayweather at 29 was fighting at 147 pounds.

The writers and historians already ranked Floyd well ahead of Manny before he held a h2h victory over him.
