I could not formulate a good argument for picking Fury.

Or are you just afraid too?
Fury is a good mover Louis struggled with movers not only that Fury has a lot of height reach and weight over louis he'd cause Louis a lot of trouble, Louis might not even catch up with him, Fury could be a great fighter himself.

A good mover against an old Klitschko. The guys Louis had trouble with were far smaller and more elusive than Fury ever could be.

See the way Buddy Baer went down for the count in the 1st round vs Louis and you have your answer.

Does anyone think that Fury's elusiveness/awkwardness could give Louis any problems?

Fury is quicker than he looks, he's unorthodox and has such good agility and coordination for a man of his size that anyone would find it hard to land combinations on him.

    I can't believe I' entertaining this argument...

Fury could be fast and hard to hit for a man of his size but that doesn't matter because he isn't fighting a man of his size. Louis did nothing but demolish giants that he fought in his career. No way in hell does Tyson Fury, the guy that punched himself in the face lets not forget, ever beat who a lot regard as the greatest heavyweight ever and everyone else as the second greatest.

Fury would beat him easily, too big and too skilled. It would be worse than Klitschko vs Fury. I don't think Louis would even be able to land a legit punch on Fury, Louis had no jab and no footwork and beat people who would just stand and bang in front of him in an era when boxing wasn't as technically developed as it is now.

If you add Fury's insane reach advantage then it's pretty easy work for Fury to just keep him away and move around. Unless Fury decides to bully him with his size and blast him away.

Even Pulev would put a boxing clinic on slow plodding flat footed Louis.

Louis was a skinny fat LHW for modern standards and didn't look athletic at all. Size-wise it's like having Fury fight Chad Dawson or Dmitry Bivol except that these two are more athletic than Louis

I think Fury is being a bit undersold here. He could certainly make this difficult for Louis wise his size and awkward style. Though obviously I'd make Louis the clear favorite.

I would have expected to feel anger or amusement at a statement like this, but all I feel is an overwhelming sense of apathy.

Fury's awkward style might enable him to make it to the mid-rounds, but at some point, I just think Louis will knock his head off. Louis by KO in 4 or 5 is what I would predict.
