Where are you hearing this mate? Boxrec still has Tom Bob Anderson Christ, Gary Cornish iced this guy over 3 years ago haha
The really funny thing is Haye talking about getting Gjergjajgggakg out of the way then having a 'big' fight with Briggs. The guy's a deluded, destitute moron who apparently believes he's still living in 2007. The world moved on, there's loads of big heavyweight fights out there and Briggs ain't one.
Briggs is a decent pay day for relatively little risk. The fight also might be on Sky. I'd like to see Haye in with a Takam or similar by the end of the year.
It was rumoured that the Haye Day 1 only sold around 10,000 tickets with the rest given away - I doubt that is true, however, I do think there would have been a few thousand given away, not as many as half. But yes, this one seems to be a total flop at the box office, I can't understand why this was ever booked for The o2, The Copper Box or Excel would be around the arena size required for this in London, or maybe he should have gone on the road to another UK city.
yeah the 02 was alwasy a big ask. If he had got a faded name like an Arreola or someone in that might have been doable but not for a no mark no one has heard off
What this got to do with PPV? Someone I work with has a GF who works at the O2. She sometimes gets concessions and for the last fight he managed to get tickets the day before the fight for £10. Today she has got him 8 tickets for Saturday for £2.50 each so yeah fair to say its bombed.
I'm going to the fight but I got tickets for 2.50 a pop. I'm sure some of the misers on here will still claim that that's too much for what's on offer.
Nothing to do with Haye. My friend's company have a deal with the 02. The AJ Martin fight was priced the same. He gets tickets for any of the events in there for the price of the booking fee.
Agreed. Briggs will end up facing a bum, who was drafted in at the 11th hour to fall over against Briggs. EDIT: Just checked Boxrec now, and Shannon Briggs is pencilled in to fight Jakov Gospic -- who is 17-14, with 8 of those losses coming by KO / TKO. Previously stopped by Erkan Teper (2011), Matt Skelton (2012), Gary Cornish (2013), Carlos Takam (2013), and Chisora (2015). Says it all, really. :-(
I have 4 X VIP suite ringside seats for this, complimentary. And I literally couldn't give them away to boxing friends!! Shifted the last one this week. Literally no appetite from anyone, including me for this event. The comeback vs De Mori you can just about give Haye a pass on ... This fight is just utterly baffling. Haye is 36 in a few months. It doesn't make sense what he's trying to acheive with this comeback?
