    He's got 3 of the 4 belts.

Jacobs has a WBA mandatory shot at him coming up.

Saunders tweeted that he's ready to take the fight, and he has the only other belt. WBA would allow the fight since it's a unification.

Alvarez brings in the most money and potential to become a PPV draw.

According to K2 and GBP they are still negotiating a Canelo-GGG fight for Sept, did anybody look at all the statements released by both camps or did most stop after seeing Vacate?

Still negotiating, but that doesn't mean they can't look at other options.

Since it's not a unification now, there's a chance the WBA would enforce the Jacobs fight. So if GGG fights Alvarez, he could potentially be stripped of the WBA. At that point, Haymon could block him from ever getting it back.

Plus BJS could lose his title to someone who would duck GGG. Makes sense to go get it now

    This!

I would do this too. Jacobs or better yet Saunders if the WBA permits it.

To me, that sounded like damage control. They knew they'd be crucified for giving up the title so they added in, "But we're still going to negotiate!"

Damage control - or an attempt to... At least, that's my belief. They don't want to fight him because they know what that entails.

3 fights left to cement his MW legacy.

    Alvarez, Jacobs, Saunders.

People will always criticise the quality of his opposition but with those victories at least he's cleaned out the division.

SMW is there for the taking if he can get the winner of DeGale v Jack. We can see Golovkin as a two weight legitimate world champ within the next 4 fights.

Jacobs then Saunders then move up. Forget Canelo now, he's an irrelevant embarrassment and the world's biggest duck to boot!!!

2 really - Alvarez just showed the world he is not a MW so must be a JMW. As GGG forced him out I will give him the win at MW by forefeit. :D

I agree with the rest though.

I would to if not for K2 publicly saying that more time is needed for things like split, venue, etc.. and that vacating was one of the first options to avoid a purse bid for both.

Both sides are saying the same thing even the ABC bodies saying that they aren't making any moves until all talks are done.
Initially when I saw the report I was gonna give GGG props because for me at least that would show more than any of his bum fights ever has. But after seeing the real details released by all involved I don't think it smart to write it off at this point.

The title thing looks bad but realistically Alvarez is the same guy who could right now have Lara's WBA title but didn't wanna fight for it because the real WBA Champ was PBF who he he tried to unify against. So the idea that him dropping the belt automatically means the fight won't happen isn't a given.

I'd rather see him beat Canelo in the ring.

Why are people still saying he should fight Canelo? Forget it, if they are guna throw the belt rather than face him they certainly aint guna face him now. Was never bothered about that fight any way, easy win for GGG.

Jacobs, BJS. Either of those would be perfect. Get the rest of those belts.
