I agree, completely discredited, looks ridiculous now.

I still have a feeling they might be forced to reverse this decision and go back and fight Golovkin to save his reputation, they might have to cave in and take the beating.

 

155 is not a weight class.

Catch weights are only really acceptable where one boxer is naturly much smaller and has already climbed through several divisions to meet a much larger man.

Surely Canelo can step up one weight class?

Either he's a junior middleweight or he's a middleweight. There's nothing in between.

Demanding 155 makes him appear weak.

canelo should now contend at 154lbs and be the fighter he knows he really is...a light middleweight. He clearly duck GGG, for both men that was the biggest fight and he turned away from it. GGG is a natural middleweight....he has to boil down to 160 so why on earth should the undisputed champ have to beckon to some chicken boys unreasonable demands? He was holding the 160lbs belt till he was stripped for being chicken boy...that means his belt is contested at errr.....160lbs.

I don't get why giving up the belt would make anyone think Golovkin would now come down in weight. Canelo while still in the driving seat being the bigger proven draw, lost some leverage by giving up the belt.

Golovkin could go unify with BJS if BJS backs up his talk and then all roads would lead to Golovkin. He'd be the undisputed champion and anyone with any ambition would be forced to fight him for a title, unless of course we count regular and silver titles.

Golovkin should go to the UK and fight BJS and Eubank Jr, get some exposure to the UK fans and grow his brand, they could give him some decent paydays.

 

The business titans cannot comprehend that The brand has been damaged and yes leverage has definitely been lost. All roads lead to Golovkin that's got a nice ring to it
