I watched his most recent fight against some bum NZ dude they found at some bar and he didn't impress in any way. Now if he beats Takam I'm jumping on the bandwagon, but I wouldn't be surprised at all if Takam pulled this off.
Takam is a huge step up, you'd think he'd fight a Molina, Chisora type guy first. Guess he wants Joshua's belt, if he impresses against Takam, a fight with joshua would be one of the most intriguing fights in boxing.
Yes it's a big step up but winning this fight does get him closer to a title shot so they likely think it's worth the risk. I also think Parker could easily be one of those fighters who could end up side lined and avoided. Too little reward for too much risk so I don't think people will be lining up to fight him unless he can get a mandatory shot, which is why they are taking such a big jump up in class. I think whoever wins would make a good opponent for Joshua but Joshua/Parker is the fight everyone really wants, that could be a huge fight.
If both AJ and JP keep winning, there may even be a SERIES of fights between the two of them. Promoters would be salivating at the thought. But let's get through this one first
The kiwi deserves MASSIVE credit if he beats Takam, remember the fight with Povetkin was pretty even.
