With the WBC belt off the table, Golovkin should accept 155lbs.

I think he should fight at 169 instead. That is a much better number.

I'm on Canelo's side in terms of dropping the title, but he has to fight GG. He will be booed because it's not like GG wasn't the mandatory. He was. Trust me. GBP's can't offer a catchweight anymore. They dropped the title. He has to fight GG no matter who is more accomplished.

That's of course non-sense. GGG was a mandatory challenger to Canelo. The WBC regulates how the money is split, how contracts are setup. GGG can't do anything to make things difficult as everything is regulated and laid down by the sanctioning organization.

So please stop the BS that GGG has been making things difficult. That's just non-sense.

Catchweights are re****ed and shouldn't be allowed. If can't/don't want to make weight in a divison, then you can't fight in it. Period.

Canelo can just go back to dragging up brittle jawed welterweights to his new weight class of 155 and Golovkin can unify the division, beats Hopkins record and move up and wreck the super middleweights.

Canelo didn't want it, doesn't want it and will never want it so let's just move on. You don't vacate a world title to avoid your mandatory and then turn around and make the fight.

What people are not understanding is the 160 is only enforced if the two teams can't agree a weight, so obviously they didn't agree a weight so why will they now?

If it was the purse, then you could say Golovkin was challenging for Canelo's belt, he was the challenger but now he is the champion so why would he take less than the 45% he was going to get in the first place now he is the champion?

If it's nothing to do with belts and money then why would any fighter give Canelo everything he wants for nothing?

Canelo ducked, he couldn't say Golovkin priced himself out because of the mandatory %, Canelo couldn't argue about the weight because it was the WBC rules and wasn't a demand by Golovkin.

Canelo had no excuses so he just dropped his title and ran.

This. Also, Canelo is currently ranked as the top Middleweight in the world so why should he need a catchweight.

This is the same Canelo that complained about Floyd putting a 2 lb handicap on him, but is ok with a 5 lb handicap on GGG. GGG should just ignore Canelo.

Okay, so first it was 160 or nothing because he held the title and the fight should be at 160 because how dare anyone have a title fight at a CW even though Golovkinweight is 164:roll:, now that he doesn't hold the title and GGG should not fight him because he's a ranked MW (who btw has never fought at the 160 limit)...

So pretty much GGGstans want GGG to duck Canelo? :huh

Lara, Mayweather, Trout, Angulo, Kirkland, Cotto, Khan > GGGs resume

    :hi:

GGG needs to stop acting like a diva and do as the greats have done and compromise to make a great fight happen.

I could see the fight at 157/8. But not at 90/10. If the fight doesn't get made, I really hope the offers and counters come out to see where the deal broke down.

Someone above mentioned negotiating to exploit the other side. Maybe that's what's wrong. They are looking to exploit one another. Try reading "Habits of highly successful people". You should negotiate for the win/win for both sides. It's likely that Oscar and K2 are going to work on other fights together. Why take the exploitative approach.

Canelo just lost a lot of face in the public eye and in the boxing community. GGG needs the high profile PPV. They can help each other..not exploit each other.

Someone mentioned GGG comes in at 159. If that's the case, make it 157/58. I think 155 is hurting Canelo and getting tougher for him. I think the KT tape speaks to that.

Canelo should get the bigger purse. I don't think that's up for debate. But this is the biggest fight that can be made, don't insult GGG by only offering him 90/10. Oscar is already going to get promotion rights, venue rights, and everything else. Maybe something similar to the purse bid rules...10% to the winner then 65/35-70/30.

If you truly believe what you've just posted, besides Joy Sinclair, then you need to start following a different sport.

There is no value now in fighting a belt dropping coward :good Canelo is a laughing stock, a joke, is seen by the majority as a coward. Even the Mexicans are out in force giving him abuse.

Golovkin has taken Canelo's most prized possessions, nothing to do with a belt but his reputation and pride :yep

So, Let's all move on, Canelo has moved on at speed, the ginger boy is still running
