Haye seems to think that knocking out club fighters will see the public demand that AJ fights Haye.

AJ doesn't have to fight Haye. Haye should be facing some live bodies before he mentions fighting for a world title.

How Haye can talk about Takem being better thhan anyone AJ has fought and then two days later fight the Alabanian clown and then declare he will fight Briggs in September. It's insulting to fans who actually know the sport.

Before the Wladimir fight I liked Haye but since then his career has been nothing short of a car crash. To come back and fight 2 club fighters and then a third v an ancient pro is outrageous.

Because AJ walked through a whole host of monsters in 16 fights to get a title shot didn't he...

Boxing on the whole is becoming more of a farce.

I'm not defending Haye, that opponent was scared after the first punch landed, but who is available to give a Haye a credible fight who is not tied up in to fight or dealing with drug issues.

Is there anyone decent available or would actually take the fight without demanding huge sums of money.

Remember some of the top ranked fighters will not risk their ranking to fight Haye to protect their ranking . I think Pulev would be a good opponent but I don't think he would take the risk without a belt on the line.

I just see this as all build up to Haye v Joshua next year

Just like old school WWF wrestling where for a whole year, the big names would face jobbers and once a year at Wrestlemania, they would face another big name

I don't pay for it so no skin off my nose

Haye is using the tried and trusted method of knocking out no hopers building casual interest and hoping that Joshua gives him the big pay day.

British boxing is in good health Haye won't destroy it he is jumping back on it's casual popularity at present. Not for sporting reasons financial.

My problem (like many others I guess with him) goes back to him pulling out of fights and lame excuses his comeback fights have been on Dave because no one else wanted them. The Briggs sideshow is keeping him in the news and that's what he likes publicity.

Frank Bruno used to have fights like this on national TV, on BBC and ITV. And also in the days of four channels.
    Millions of viewers.

And people now look back on that era quite fondly.

I didn't actually see the Haye fight but I get the general idea.
Well, I got the general idea as soon as the fight was announced.

    The public know David Haye.
    That's all that matters.
It's up to Eddie Hearn and SKY, and certainly Hearn will be wanting this fight because Haye actually poses little risk, despite what some people think.

I like Haye and don't disregard what he achieved in the first part of his career, but I have to agree with everything you have said. Last night was a farce...

It wasn't a fix! C'mon man, fights would only be fixed when the boxer who is meant to lose has a chance of winning but takes a dive. Gjergjaj came for a pay-day, felt the power and looked for a way out, knowing he'd earn the same purse whichever round he got knocked out in. Saying it was a fix is just ridiculous.

Any combat sport where fighters and independent promoters can pick and choose who their opponents are is going to see mismatches and farces like last night, Canelo vs Khan etc. etc.

Professional boxing is rotten to the core I'm afraid.

Peak of 2.5 million watched on Dave last night. Say what you want about the quality but there is a demand for big name fta boxing.
