    Reality check:

Parker is a small heavyweight. He might be 6'4 (which isn't tall by modern standards anyway) but he has the arms of a T Rex.

    His power looks overrated too.

He is not a world beater.

  2. when josh fights someone on the level of takam then we can speak fighting martins and breezil/whyte wont cut it

Takam was limited and a bit sh!t. Let's get that right. The reason Parker struggled, and why stamina became an issue, is that he couldn't control the pace of the fight. The reason he couldn't control the pace of the fight is because he couldn't get his jab working. the reason he couldn't get his jab working is because he has the reach of a T Rex and was out-reached by a much smaller man.

Let's call a spade a spade and stop fcking about.

I have been waiting for a competetive HW match on top level since 2003. I had a strong feeling that Joshua and Parker could be something like V. Klitschko and L. Lewis...But, now , after Takam, I think that I'll be waiting long time...And, more dangerous opponents for Joshua are Wilder, Ortiz and Haye then Parker...Of course, I'm fan of boxing...nothing against Parker...

In general you're right, except for the last part. Tua vs Ibeabuchi was a fight were both boxers only focused on throwing the highest volume possible of arm punches, standing toe to toe. There were very few hard shots landed clean

I could trash Parker because he didn't meet my expectations (He didn't have world class stamina to stop Takam) but too many idiots are trashing fighters over one fight. He has some things to work on if his goal is to be the undisputed champ, he should not go on the 2 fight a year regimen just yet. He beat a tough fighter and should get credit for it.

Parker's profile benefits from the fact he's from New Zealand. If he were American or British, the hype wouldn't be nearly as great, but he has the focus of an entire nation starved of boxing success, and that tends to result in unrealistic expectations.

What we can conclude from the Takam fight is, Parker's power is overrated, his defence is weaker than it will need to be at the highest level and his stamina isn't the best.

On the plus side: he showed guts to tough out a deserved decision, took some big shots to prove his chin and found a way to win when Plan A failed to deliver the KO.

That said, Fury would school him and AJ would knock him out, I suspect. And I'm not sure he's got the potential growth in his skills to ever change those realities.

He'll get a title shot and, hey, if Charles Martin can win a version of the world title, so may Parker. But he's decent, nothing more, nothing less.

Can't do a great deal to improve stamina: your V02 max can be improved but not beyond the limits of a fighter's DNA. Parker needs to work on ring craft to buy himself those vital breathers. Can he boost his ring IQ? That is the key question mark hanging over his future career, I suspect.

Whyte vs Parker would be competitive, and I lean towards Whyte right now... but only just.

i did not expect takam to hurt parker and at no time did he.

you cannot rate parkers chin as iron on the back of this fight.

he had no trouble taking takams punches despite the fact he leaves his chin in the air admiring his own work after firing off a volley.

takam has slow delivery and is an arm puncher only off both hands

his hardest shot is his right uppercut on the inside / but other than that he uses his strength /weight /to try to wear fighters down/.

he is not a fighter to try to ****yse parkers chin off.

what parker needs to do anyway is not get hit after he fires off his volleys / he neds to get out of the pocket/keep his left arm up more and give more lateral movement instead of going straight back on rails.

hopefully sparring and barry will teach him to learn from his mistakes.

you cannot leave your chin this exposed and easy to cannect flush on v bigger punchers albeit there are only haye/wilder/joshua/ortiz / off the top of my head in the top 20 that are 1 punch fighters / povetkin more a wear them down puncher.

parkers power is not one punch but will stop most heavys / takam took some shots that would have dropped / wobbled a lot of the top 10 .
