    Sure, but they have to strip Canelo first don't they? If Canelo still has the Ring magazine title, he is in fact the lineal champion.

    No. Technically it has to be vacated, by moving up or down a class, or retiring. But it is my opinion you could be stripped,a ything is possible I suppose.
