And he also looked Superb against fighters with much more ability than those mentioned.

Based on his performances with Angulo and Canelo and Paul Williams, I think its safe to say he underestimated Angulo and either way much to Lara's credit, he f-ed Angulo up even after the KDs.

Lara is becoming a joke. Let's see him first how he does against Quillin or Jacobs @ 160 lbs on PBC.

That's what happens when you fight real challenges. You don't always look good. But winning is all that matters. Lara might not be able to beat GG but he wants to fight him. Das wassup

Boxing as he did against Trout where he was flawless or negative as he did against Canelo were imo he bottled it once he felt Canelo's strength.

I hope you are right because elite fighters shouldn't be struggling with the Angulo's of boxing.

And if Golovkin somehow struggles with Lara, then what would that make Golovkin? Mediocre?

That's not a fair statement. Despite Angulo's limitations he has great qualities that have allowed him to be a world level fighter that can cause an elite fighters fits.

There are countless and countless examples in boxing's history where an elite fighters even ATGs have had a tough time with a journeyman, contender, or a fighter regarded as inferior... Its boxing and it happens because of clashes of styles.

You can't be fair in your judgement or ****ysis if you only look at a fighter's bad performances, to get a fair and balanced idea you have to look at their best performances also.

GGG struggled with light hitting, much smaller, has-been Kassim Ouma.. I'm not going to base all of GGGs abilities based on that one bad fight.

Look how Lara did against HUGE, high volume puncher Paul Williams despite getting robbed.

Exactly! You underestimate a puncher like Angulo who's a big 154 pounder, and you're going to have problems.
Its something that happens often in boxing.
When Evander Holyfield was on the scene looking for a bout with Mike Tyson, he took a fight with Bert Cooper on short notice as the fighter he was supposed to fight dropped out due to an injury.

Cooper was a former cruiserweight champ with a big punch but small in height. Evander Holyfield thought he was just going to steamroll through Cooper and was doing just that when Cooper nailed him with a right hand out of hell to Holyfield's temple.
Holyfield came with in seconds of getting stopped, he was in real bad shape from that punch.
Afterward, the armchair quarterbacks were out in full force. "Had that been Tyson against Holyfield, he would have been put in a pine box."

    Well guess what?
The mindset and plan to fight Mike Tyson is totally different than one for Bert Cooper.

You all know the rest of the story! :yep

I would think Al would be keen to make that fight. Think about it...Lara is boring as **** and doesn't draw ****, but he's pretty crafty/tricky. Even if he were to beat Daniel Jacobs or one of the Charlos nobody would really care about him. All that would do is harm the investment Haymon has made in Jacobs/Charlo's.

Now, if he were to somehow out point 3G, now that would be a pretty big deal for Lara and hurt K2/HBO considerably. In the highly likely event that Lara gets his head knocked off by Golovkin, what did Big Al really lose? Not much, IMO.

Pretty sure this is the reason that Floyd/Haymon fans keep banging the drum for this fight so much. You never hear Blizzy, Pump C or Shaftgrasper insisting that Jacobs should fight Lara, now do you? Even though that fight would be infinitely easier to negotiate, they don't want to see that at all. Nor does Al, I dare say.

Not that any of this speculation matters...GGG has much bigger fish to fry than Lara. Lara should rematch Molina.

I wonder is Al will have Jacobs throw his WBA title into the wind also??

Lara is somewhat of a counterpuncher who does better against fighters aggressive fighters that come to him. He wasn't able to land much effectively against Canelo because Canelo himself is a counterpunching type.

GGG is right down Lara's alley. Would be a good fight to watch GGG aggressively pursue Lara while Lara steps and evades and shoots on the counter.

GGG has never faced anyone even remotely close to Lara's boxing style. Would be might interesting to see how Golovkins handles it.
