I don't think he'll ever be the same after that knockout. Pacquiao was shot after Marquez knocked him out when he got sloppy(pacquiao was beating the hell out of Marquez before the KO). He was a much more methodical fighter after the knockout, that's why Floyd decided to finally make the fight happen all of a sudden. Khan is done. Discuss.
I don't see why, quick KO no sustained damage against power he will not see (bar poss Brook) at 147 ... he can come again would not be surprised to see him win a belt or 2 at 147.
When you get KO'd like that its all mental within the fighter. Khan is one of the strongest mentally in the game today, he'll be fine. Its happened to him twice and come back twice.
He's never been KO'd like that. You don't recover from knockouts like that. His body and mind will for now on work a lot slower in the ring. Khan is now a 37 year old man
He isn't shot but he is past prime. throughout 2011 was his prime. 140, 25 years old. Everything going for him...then got ignored by Bradley and shafted by Peterson. 147 he has only just managed to hold it together...everything is downhill from here. Looking at Errol Spence you see where the division will be heading. A true young welterweight...Khan isn't even a true welter even though he has the weight to fight there. Just as Pacquiao and Floyd were past prime after 2009. Floyd & Pacquiao were prime at 130 & 135 - but their skill level is so high it enabled them to go deep into their careers age wise. It's really a physical fact - You don't get physically better after 30 years old. Certain assets really start to fade...power is one of the last things to go...unfortunately for Khan he never had that asset.
Maybe but I doubt it. I think he'll probably be the same fighter for the next year or two - extremely fast but just as vulnerable. He's had a couple of savage knockout losses already and they don't seem to have affected his style or ability. His speed will diminish eventually but his chin probably couldn't get any worse.
