If you were Haye how would you claw back respect?

Go back in time and properly retire after KOing Chisora?

Not fighting Briggs for one. And going for a top 15 or better even a top 10 fighter next. Haye's 35 so he better not waste his time with sandbags.

 

He won't fight no one risky, he wants to get relevant again then get the joshua fight. As I've said before haye is the casuals favourite. If he keeps doing what he's doing the josh fight will come and make BIG money for easy joshua win.

 

Fight Briggs in the Summer on Dave and then someone like a Takam in Autumn. No real need for the delay in the Briggs fight from a broadcasting perspective- what are Dave going to show instead on a Saturday night? More Top Gear?

 

I personally think Jennings gets a bit overrated following his performance against and old and lacklustre Wlad. I think Takam might well beat him and beat him well.

 

haye is just part of the new breed of media types. they cant deliver in real fights.

notice he hasn't mentioned his toe recently.

 

That's why he's treading carefully!

 

Forget the old man Briggs who will get seriously hurt against Haye and fight someone like Dimitrenko or even Chisora again to see where he's at, then Pulev then the World Title.

Do something like this and he'll get total respect. Otherwise he's in danger of losing Joshua or anyone else cos they can go get bigger fights elsewhere.

 

Haye knows he doesn't need to do much of anything to be respected and rated as a leading heavyweight.
Too many boxing fans have been overrating him and kissing his ar$e for so long for it to change.
And as he's known to the mainstream audience and the mainstream media so he's always getting some attention.

I blame the boxing fans who ought to know better. Always looking to give him a pass and another chance. Always looking to put him in the top 2 or 3 heavyweights in the world, saying he'd beat this guy and that guy.

You get what you deserve. When you indulge a man like Haye he's just going to pushing it that little extra.

I actually admire him for making a lot of noise and a lot of money at heavyweight on the strength of very thin accomplishments.
But people take him way too seriously as a boxer.

 

haye is faving briggs?? there is no end to his run of shame. Since when has someone British tried to sell facing a 43 year old as a decent contest???

excepting joe cowardzaghe, because Hopkins was still fairly good....and joe tried to pass that off as elite and a real "title" defence..no one has been so terrible as that in british boxing history,
haye get a grip man! u r better than joe.

 

He fights Dillian White next, then somebody like Ortiz or Parker who nobody else fancies. That would certainly do the trick !

 

they're all too risky. Haye knows he's done at the top level. Can't see him going for any of them - especially not Ortiz!
