Ruby Robert's son who was actually ranked by Ring as heavyweight in 1925. Lost to Tiger Flowers, Jack Delaney and Young Stribling. Biggest win was probably over Rojas who at one time claimed the South American heavyweight championship.

Similarly built to dad, seemed to have a bit of pop, but lost a lot.

Any thoughts or knowledge to kick down? I think pops was dead and gone when his career began.

Papa Bob died of pneumonia in 1917, survived by his fourth wife. His grave lies in the Graceland Cemetery, Chicago. Having four wives, a gambling habit and a susceptibility to confidence tricksters, he did not hold on to the money he made.

Young Bob was bigger than his Dad, old Fitz was convinced he was going to be a great.

    Height 6'1"
    Weight205lbs
    Reach 74.5"
    Chest 42"
    Biceps17"
    Forearm12.5"
    Fist 13.5"
    Measurements from his Dad.
Father and son toured demonstrating Fitz's famous victories
They sparred together on 1914 in NY

Fitz wanted to be cremated upon his death, but his wife Temo had him buried.3000 attended it, with flowers and telegrams from Jeffries,Corbett,Sullivan,Nelson, and McFarland among many others.

Young Bob arrived in military uniform but on learning his father was to be buried refused to stay for the funeral, and returned to his duties as boxing instructor in an army camp.
Fitz was buried with 9 diamonds in his teeth when his estate "Dunellen" and her $155,000 worth of diamonds were gone, donated to good works, Fitz's wife, who had gone on to survive two further husbands applied to have him exhumed so the diamonds could be retrieved.
The Chicago authorities refused her request, she died in1959 .She was buried with her third husband not with Fitz who ,as been said is in Graceland cemetery Chicago,200 feet away from Jack Johnson.

Young Bob Fitzsimmons seems to have been a solid journeyman with very good durability. Note that he was never stopped in any of his known bouts. Young Bob apparently had a more stable life than his father did. He was married and had at least two children, both of them daughters.
