While I have noticed a fondness for this board to match Marciano as a 185 pound man against super heavyweights. What if the Rock time travels to the present and wants in on the rehydration model of success. His unique weight range of 178 to 192 could mean he could battle for 4 lineal titles and become a potentional P4P GOAT.

I know this is different, and you really really crave to see a 250 pound man put this past great in his place but if Rocky is not allowed to beef up and make it a fair fight, he takes this path.

    Marciano vs Canelo Middleweight
    178 vs 178

    Marciano vs Ward Super Middle
    180 Vs 174

    Marciano vs Stevenson Light Heavy
    188 Vs 188

    Marciano vs Glowacki Cruiser
    192 vs 210

Sadly Rocky could never make 160. You'd have to cut an arm off.

    Why?

This is a young 178 pound Marciano. Like Canelo today.

Geale was 180 and fought Golovkin at 160, But was drained at 155 for Cotto. Or so they say.

Marciano losses to canelo as he was too young to beat a world class guy. Ward he bests; Stevenson stops him as the Rock has never beat a quality southpaw. Glowy baby ud.

Interesting, you see Marciano losing to everyone but the fighter recognized by publications as the best of the four.

So despite these men being the same size and some would say lesser than his 50s opponents, you feel conditions are still not right for him to go undefeated?

What lucky stars was he born under, if you believe that.

Luck is the residue of design.

Ward is by far the best of the bunch. Had you picked kovalev instead of Stevenson, Marciano would be 2-2.

But you did that on purpose.

    I might have, I don't know.

Stevenson is in his late 30s, described as slick, black, and under 200 pounds. Will his southpaw stance overcome those possible weaknesses which Marciano is perceived to have benefited from? That's a lot of strikes against him.

This is ludicrous. Even today with 36 hours to rehydrate Marciano would have never been able to get down to 160 or 168 and Id even bet my savings that he couldn't get down to 175, certainly not by the time he was talented enough to compete at the world level. What you are missing is that Marciano was comfortable walking around at over 200 pounds. He absolutely killed himself in training, living a Spartan, dedicated life to make 185. Not many fighters trained as hard as Marciano to get to that weight. That was about his limit. Cut another ten pounds hes not helping himself hes just doing harm.

Yeah. A lot of people see rehydration weights and think omg, Gatti weighs 160 pounds back in the day he would have been a middleweight. And completely ignore that guys cut weight back then as well (not as much but still plenty; you get a ton of college wrestlers cutting 5-7 pounds week in and week out with same day weigh ins). Weighing 175 pounds at the moment of the fight is not the same as weighing 175 pounds the morning of the fight. But you can't tell people anything anymore...

That is your opinion, if you feel Marciano is somehow special and can't dehydrate weight like every other 178 to 190 pound man today.

You don't think Kovalev trains hard to make 188 before draining to the 175 limit? And probably walks around 200.

Wow, I would think you were named Dubal Speek with all those possible contradictions.

So if it is so easy, you agree Marciano Can do it? Or is this just one of those rules that apply to every athlete in history except Marciano?

It is possible, you don't want to consider Marciano fighting men his own size in 2016, you don't want to see what he could accomplish.

You would rather discuss his chances against men 60 pounds heavier because you either think he is a superman or you want to imagine him losing a mismatch. Maybe.

Mariciano looked kinda lean in the Walcott I fight, whereas 4 years later he looked more stocky.

Some say he was up in 210 lb range in street clothes, not training between fights. Type of guy in a bar, you know best not to mess with.
