Marciano in his pro debut at 192 vs Tua in his pro debut at 201. Who wins this battle of novice cruiserweights? Will 9 pounds be enough for the flabby young Samoan? Or does class beat size? Please no wiggles or fantasy, match these men as they actually were at a specific time.
Nobody wants to discuss this match up when both men are in the same weight class? You would rather debate it when it is a modern super middle\light heavy giving up 50 pounds to a superheavy?
Are you sure? Marciano is 6 years away from a title shot Tua is 7. Marciano 2 years away from fighting his first contender. Tua is 3 years away.
Tua was just out of the Olympics , had 89 amateur fights and was being trained by Duva. Marciano had 11 amateur fights.
Yeah Marciano was as rough as hell by all accounts. Less sandpaper and more a knobbly boulder. Just shows you what can be done with a little determination :hey
And you think this would be a technical exhibition? Tua may also have more wear and tear in that many fights, like other more experienced Marciano opponents.
This is not really fair on Tua's part, I don't even think Tua would beat Marciano at heavyweight, let alone Cruiserweight.
Tua was KO'd by Savon in the amateurs in round one. I'd pick Rocky here if they meet in their debuts.
tua would ko marciano and liston in the same week, by the way, tua could figth at cruiser if you did cut to him a leg
tua never was knocked out by savon, it was a tko stoppage, this savon would have killed the amateur marciano and would make him look a complete useless. try again
