PAC man, GGG, Ortiz, kovalev, not sure their ages but there all around that ball park, each give me reason to suspect them.

 

Kovalev is 33. GGG is 34 and will probably decline soon.

Pacquiao is a shell of himself compared to say what he was at 28.

Seems like there are a lot of fighters who are near or have turned 40 can still compete at a very high level.

Just look at what Bernard Hopkins has accomplished at near 50.

Cant lay all of the blame in PED's though. Its easier to stay at the championship level or at least give the illusion to in this era of multi belts per division.
That and the art of the cherry pick is stronger in this era than in any other era in history.
Hopkins for instance along the way out of 160 lbs starting with Jermaine Taylor lost to the most athletically gifted, guys with quickness and speed.

Even if some of these older fighters are taking PED's, they still have to be very selective on who they fight. Older fighters like Mayweather and Pacquiao have not fought certain a certain style of fighter as they have aged. They have stayed away from quicker and faster fighters younger than they are. Stayed away from fighters like Khan, Thurman, Crawford, etc......

PED's alone are not the sole reason there are more older fighters today towing the line at the championship level.

Fighting once a year and cherry-picking opponents is the best performance enhancer available for older fighters.

 

I hear that. I was looking at Welterweight contender Holman Williams record of who he fought in the 30s and 40s. Cocoa Kid 13 times, Charley Burley 7 times, Eddie Booker 3 times, Archie Moore twice, Bob Satterfield, Jake LaMotta, and Marcel Cerdan. Can you imagine Pac and Floyd having to run that gauntlet? He's fighting the greatest middleweights and light heavyweights ever multiple times as a welterweight. Williams never even got a shot at the title!

 

A lot of factors go into longevity, ability/pedigree and avoiding injury. 36 is certainly not old these days. It was in other eras, is that peds or training methods. A bit of both.
