    Ah, got it!

Also, not directed to you, Seamus, but in general:

A win is the more "impressive" the better the opponent. That's what I was driving at when I joked that Cleveland Williams circa the Ali fight referenced was a "cadaver." So a "surgical" performance - which I assume means a performance that displays technical virtuosity - is most impressive when it is against another superlative technician.

In this context, I would point to Chan-hee Park's win over Miguel Canto as an example. Canto is universally considered the greatest technician at the flyweight; and though a bit past his prime, Canto had an economical style that aged well. Against this, Park arguably scored a shutout. That is a "most impressive surgical performance."

Even except that being the second quip of that joke, it's a bit overstated. Williams was past it, but that "corpse" would still beat one of Frazier's so called contenders many years later.

But back to the topic - I don't think Benitez-Duran has been mentioned yet. Or Whitaker-Chavez.

    My joke was better.

Yes, Chavez neutralized a prime Whitaker. Good call.

Ali gave both Williams and Zora Foley paydays out of the goodness

Yeah, about as much as Ali destroyed a fighter as good as prime Louis in the form of Williams.

Rigo was perfect against Teon. But the Tyson vs Douglas is a good ****ogy with the suprise knockdown just making the beating worse for the loser. Qawi was a butcher at LHW would love to have seen him and Toney go at it.
