    Agreed.

Burns is the worst champion in recent memory.

Who would you say is a worse three weight world champion?

Edit: this isn't to denigrate Burns but rather looking for a list of boxers that won titles in multiple weights that many fans don't recognise as great or special fighters.

Who did he actually beat that was world class to get those titles?

Struggled with Beltran, avoided Broner/JMM and Gamboa.

Right place, right time for 'ol Rickster, and you know it.

It is a bit unfair to criticise burns and their have been plenty of paper champions worse than burns but I do agree it aint good for boxing that guys like burns become three weight champions, its what happens when there are 4 recognised belts which causes the quality of belt holders to be less talented. Burns is as good as or better than some of the title holders from Britain over the years and some of the current ones like say Anthony crolla so it is unfair to slag someone who has put in hard work and is a nice guy like ricky.

just checked the list of three weight champions on Wikipedia, burns defo doesn't belong with most of those names but it still isn't his fault, he can only defeat whats put in front of him and he aint gonna turn down a title shot like the one he was given especially given his finances and what not.

I would say hes one of the worst british champion we've had recently. hes won approx. 1 world level fight in all these years.

That's freaking appalling. Stuart Hall level, not withstanding Stuie was well past his best when he eventually won a title.

Three weight world champion a considerable lot less financial support behind him than khan but gained three times the success hmmmm
Still it was weakish how he as done it but history books will have him there as Scotland's only three weight champion

thing is ash, history wont if it keeps on getting Wassenised dilutions. There will be weaker boxers than burns from scotladn who "emulate him" if such practice continues, it wont take long.

"Who did he actually beat" it's funny when people pull out this quote when at the times he fought Martinez and Katsidis people were expecting both of them to spark him out but afterwards it's "Martinez was a hype job" "Katsidis was shot"

personally I wouldn't want to envy a guy who has faked and pyssed on his fans for so long. That's nothing to be envious of, its something to laugh at.

why would you choose to interest something that begs ridicule as jealousy?

agree with beltran because of the injury,JMM moved up in weight after ricky fought katsidas for interim title, so never avoided him, as far has im aware the broner fight we were getting 6-7 weeks notice and icky said no,not enough time to prepare
the answe to you question is, Martinez ring mag No1, Katsitas excellent fighter, Gonzalez pure class mandatory challenger, Kevin Mitchell mandatory challenger, Moses ex world champ, Crawford is a machine beat everyone out there just now, not a bad list when you look at it logically
