Canelo would be his best breakthrough fight to garner attention. Only problem is Canelo might not let that happen, thats his own fault for boasting about being a warrior and all that.

Then anyone and everyone. If he doesn't get a wriggle on he might be too old too really stamp his place in history.

So he should fight anyone B grade or not.

I don't see any of the 5 as ducking him, Canelo will fight anyone he just wants a good deal and maybe the fight to simmer a bit

CEJ, BJS and Lara are openly calling him out but my pick is Jacobs who may have the mandatory forced and the fight basically will have to take place unless there's a unification.

Should be Billy Bob Saunders for the undisputed MW championship.
Expect it to be Christy Eubank Jr for money.

    I think it's Jacobs

    Canelo duck's him right now!
Saunders will call him out again after GGGs next fight is signed, not before!
Eubank would be my 2nd favorite, but i don't think he is mentally prepared!
Why fighting a 154 guy.. thats more the style of Canelo...

I hope so. Jacobs seems to be having trouble getting good fights himself. Eubank ran for the hills and the Andy Lee fight fell through for who knows what reason.

It's been simmering. It's never gonna get bigger than it is now. Canelo either never plans on fighting GGG or he's waiting for him to get old. Either of which are extremely cowardly which seems to be the norm in todays boxing

I disagree, it's still building momentum and GGG's brand is nowhere near its potential. A loss to either fighter could diminish the fight greatly though so it is a balancing act (pac losing a couple of times didn't really change the drawing power of their fight though I suppose).

GGG is Canelo's Everest, what happens if he beats him next? Fan's will want him to go face the winner of Ward vs Kovalev? FFS he hasn't had 1 fight @ 160 yet.

Why is Canelo being persecuted for not fighting the best fighter in the division in his first fight @ 160?.

Cotto isn't a middleweight and winning that belt was near meaningless, it was what it was though.

Now GGG can have his belt but if he wants the fight asap then he needs to take the risk and go to 155. Canelo is in the drivers seat for that fight and always will be. Canelo is 25yo with a whole career ahead of him, GGG is at the risk of getting old over night, he needs to make hay while the sun shines.

    A fringe top-15-sort-of opponent.

Didn't WBA say it would order the Jacobs fight if GGG couldn't get the other unification bouts?

I think this is the difference between more traditional fans and for lack of a better word "newer" fans.

Canelo IS a middleweight. He has been for quite awhile now. He stepped into the MW world when he decided on this 155 nonsense.

It's not like Canelo/Oscar didnt know this was coming or shocked that there was a mandate. They knew this going into the Kahn fight.
They had the perfect chance to fight any other MW in the world to test Canelo but instead went for a super soft, chinny WW.

Canelo is more than welcome to go back to 154 and take on the best there. My guess is he can't make that weight anymore without hurting himself.

Dropping the belt, instead of taking the fight is getting crucified in the media and making himself look scared. Doesnt matter if he is or not.
