David Haye responds to Tony Bellew's call-out

He's stopped 6 of his last 8 opponents. He's improving. As you know, some fighters peak early, some improve as time goes by, Crolla is an example of that.

All I read on these forums since the fight with Makabu got made was how Bellew was going to get steam rolled. Bellew knocks him out and suddenly Makabu is a bum.

I'm not saying he beats Haye, in fact I'm saying Haye beats him before he retired. I'm just questioning if this is the same Haye as the one from a few years ago.

 

If haye could lose that weight with no effect and actually wanted to fight at cruiser he would obiliterate Bellew in a couple of rounds

 

You'd think that Haye had cleaned up in that division and had never lost a match at cruiserweight.

 

People shouldnt let their dislike for Haye impact their thoughts on the fight and how it would pan out..

I feel like everyone else when it comes to David Haye. Conning his way through the path of least resistance to try and queue jump his way to a title shot..

But he would destroy Bellew, at any weight.

Time for Haye to fight a decent Heavyweight if he wants back in the mix. Parker, Whyte or Pulev would be perfect.

 

I honestly don't dislike him. Don't care either way. I don't think he's tall enough for heavyweight though. He'll have the same trouble as Chisora in trying to fight the big lads in that they'll have more movement than a Valuev and they won't let him get on the inside.

I hope I'm wrong and he can mix it up in the HW division but I really can't see him beating Fury, Joshua, Wilder etc

 

It would be another mismatch and joke of a fight.

 

Apparently, Bellew and Price were the reason Haye had to pull out of the Hobson fight in 2003.

Totally agree with Bellew. Haye isn't a proper heavyweight, he's an overblown cruiser.

 

An overblown cruiser who would spark Bellew out inside about 60 seconds.

 

Haye is an idiot for responding in the first place, isn't he meant to be focusing on getting a shot at a heavyweight title, what's he doing? The man is looking more ridiculous as time goes on, fighting Briggs will make him a laughing stock as it is. He needs a Chisora like win but I don't see it coming when he talks about these pointless fights as if they mean something.

 

I don't think Bellew will take part in a fixed fight so obviously rules him out as a Haye opponent..

 

Sad thing is, Bellew would be a significant step up for Haye, and a more legitimate match up than that old punch bag Briggs.

 

I agree Haye is a conman interms of him facing shiiiiit opponents but he would hardly need to fix the fights against he likes of De Mori and GrigWotshisname

 

You can almost see the $$$$ signs in Davids eyes!

 

Makabu aside - who was known to have shaky whiskers himself - was he not expected to KO any of those six opponents? As per, a British fighter wins by KO and all of a sudden we act like they're Julian Jackson. The same thing happened with Crolla and Flanagan after recent stoppage wins.

He's now talking big about fighting Haye at heavyweight and claiming he and his tag team partner Price had previously "bounced Haye all around the ring" in sparring. IMO, he's getting way ahead of himself and would be decapitated by even this version of Haye.
