Not many people ever predicted Super Joe would beat good opposition within a round. Josh Warrington isn't Joe (nor is he a big puncher, he's feather fisted) and Lee Selby is elite. Absolutely not a single chance in hell of him KOing Selby in the 1st. None. :hi:

I'm not a big Warrington fan but any bloke on here who cant understand why it wouldn't be possible to even consider fighting a week before your wedding are either too immature to understand or don't like women.

It wasn't a week it was 6 weeks, they were aware of his wedding date hence why one much earlier was proposed

It would only be a painful mismatch anyway. Not a fight I'm too bothered about. Warrington is the living, breathing definition of overrated.

I could accept it as an excuse if he said "ok, how about a couple of weeks after?"

Probably a good move for Warrington by people who care about his career.

No way is he ready for Selby so why rush it.

By what measure does a domestic level fighter call the shots on a world champion?

You're not Spartacus (can't even spell it).... and you're not very bright either. Goodbye, I'll miss you on these forums. I mean, you are leaving now, right?

Your a clever lad. Ive been waiting 14yr for someone to notice that and.your the first to point out why i spelt it wrongly. Im no ones slave.

Re; a domestic lvl fighter not calling the shots on a world champ, we shall see.
You obviously dont understand how boxing works, warrington will call the shots here not selby.
You heard selby say he wont give warrington the fight now he wont do augustwell ill state it now this fight will be done by the end of the year.
You understand nothing of selbys position and options. if you were to do some research you would change your opinion but you understand very little thats why you say when does a domestic lvl fighter call the shots on a world champ.

Its the biggest fight of his life he wants a full camp with no distractions, that includes getting married.

You cancel your wedding, it's a world title shot and a huge payday.

It really is that simple and his soon to be wife obviously knows she's marrying a fighter and these things can happen.

A little wedding postponement is nothing when you consider how life changing this fight can be (if he truly believes he wins it, which I don't believe he does now)

Why jump to selbys demands giving him power and then go through all the disruption of canceling your wedding cos selby who has very little bargaining power in this tranaction says you have to fight him in august.
It makes more sense to me to tell selby that ive made my plans for august and you arnt part of them plans and ill fight you later in the year.. surely youd do the same?
The world title shot and huge payday is still there its just later in the year. Plus your not doing what selby says. The tail dont wag the dog.

It isn't jumping to any demands, it's a world title shot and a very good payday.

It's Warringtons job, it is suppose to be what he does, apparently he is a fitness freak and I'm assuming he is in good shape most of the time anyway.

It's an opportunity and in life you take them when they are in front of you because they might not be there tomorrow.

Hearn doesn't seem overly impressed, Selby says he isn't giving him another opportunity so I think it's a bad move and he seems to have forgotten he is a prize fighter.

I'm married but I tell you with my hand on heart if I had that opportunity then I'd take it and postpone my wedding and my future wife would have to understand that is what I do and this is me securing our future.

Ok look at it this way.

Option1. You can have a title shot in august but you wouldnt have the length of notice to fully prepare youd really like and in the middle of all that youve got a wedding your fully immersed in preparing and organising.
Option 2. You get more than enough time to prepare for the biggest fight of your life. Youve had your wedding your now happily married and all you have left to concentrate on is the next biggest day in your life. You go into this fight with more than a full camp behind you and theres no further distractions youve kept your misses happy the woman youve vowed the rest of your life with.
Which would you pick thems your options... any sane mature minded person would pick no2 imo.
Forget what selby has said for now re; not giving him the fight now we can come back to that shortly

Youve got them 2 options which would you pick.

No, August was almost 3 months away when this was offered, how long do you need for a camp?

You keep saying he needs a full camp, any longer and he could very well over train, it's a fine line. 10 weeks is surely enough to get yourself in to fantastic shape if you don't balloon between fights or over indulge which Warrington doesn't.

And you postpone your wedding, it really is that simple. His fiancée should completely understand, she's marrying a prize fighter.

maybe deep down he just doesn't really want it :think
