Thus far Maderna has never been stopped, not even against La Bomba Rodriguez, can Beterbiev be the first man to do so?:think

Beterbiev still wants to compete in the 2016 Olympics. I'd heard him mention that about 18 or so months ago but I thought he'd given up on the idea. I didn't know he'd made his late father a promise he'd win an Olympic gold, which would obviously explain his motivation for him still wanting to do so. That dream should probably have come to fruition at the Beijing Olympics in 2008 when Beterbiev lost a controversial decision to the home nation representative and eventual gold medalist Zhang Xiaoping. Beterbiev had already beaten the guy Zhang fought in the final, Ireland's Kenny Egan who was robbed of the gold against Zhang. Beterbiev stopped Egan in 2 rounds on the OS rule in the European championships in 2006.

Beterbiev had also stopped the guy Zhang fought in the quarter finals (Abdelhafid Benchebla) in the 4th round of the semi-final of the Feliks Stamm Tournament earlier in the same year as those Olympics too and he also beat him again on points the following year as well.

Well with the fight against Maderna coming up and then Ramadan, I don't see how he could qualify for the olympics even if he wanted to.

Its not like he's from a weak boxing nation where he can just parachute in

Maderna came in more than 2lbs overweight. (177.2lbs)

He has two hours to lose the weight.

    Beterbiev was 174.2lbs.

How long will this fight last? Is the opponent not a super middleweight? Could be an early nights work. K.O in under 3 rounds for me.

This Argentinian guy is getting bulldozed.
Haymon is such a ***** for not having Alvarez, Beterbiev and Fonfara face each other.
Instead they are all facing some stiffs.
