Yes, it is true that many times a mandatory is not deserving. Sometimes if you want to keep the title belt you have to fight guys like this. Golovkin likes having his belts, so what? He also wants to fight the best fighters available but no one seems interested. He is clearly the most feared man at MW, he deserves the fight with Alvarez, and he is the mandatory... and actually deserves to be. What's the fvcking problem? Yes, he unified the division. Technically, you could argue that he didn't, as Dariusz was the lineal champ after beating Hill but was then stripped. But after his belts had been past around, Roy eventually ended up with them after beating Lou Del Valle and Reggie Johnson. So along with the WBC belt, he ended up with all 3 of the main belts. But my original point was that a fighter shouldn't be criticised for taking on weak mandatories. A fighter has no control over the rankings.
