Robbie Davies Jr. is the WBA Continental Super Lightweight champion and, resultantly, is ranked within the WBA's top 15. That looks like the voluntary which could get made for Burns. :good
That could happen. I think it hinges on the Crolla vs Flanagan fight happening -- and obviously Burns remaining champion at 140 for, say, the next 12-18 months. If it happend I could see Crolla taking a points win: he's fresher, and has much more variety than Burns.
Probably not; but I imagine fresh-faced Eddie might try and sell that potential contest as a challenging fight for Burns. Burns' worst nightmare would be Provodnikov being made a mandatory for his title.
Don't understand the hatred for Burns on here. He is a good bloke, fought numerous live opponents, been involved in wars. Yet the guys that hate on him praise Brook, Joshua etc. Martinez,Moses,Mitchell,Crawford,Figueroa,Gonzales,Beltran, katsidis!! What a run of opponents for a paper champion
I don't understand it either, Burns doesn't mouth off or disrespect opponents, lives a clean life, just gets on with it and like you posted has faced a good run of opponents.
He's a three weight world champ having beaten only one decent fighter. He's a prime example of why boxing ****s itself over.
