Beterbiev going to represent canada in the olmypics

    Representing a country that never gets above 5C At least they will have something to cheer about he will be forced to fight someone worth a damn. better than his pbc foes. the big gloves will help him protect his glass jaw. he probably can make it to the final bell and he actually was a good enough amatuer. just has nothing to offer as a pro.

    but the biggest reason he is doing this run is obvious. so he will have a ban and wont ever have to fight kovalev LOL

    Source he's representing Canada?
    He won't be able to win a WBC belt for 2 years if that's the case. If he wants to fight a guy with the WBC belt, he'd have to have a non-title fight.
    He wants to fulfil his dream of winning Olympic Gold, that his late father wished.

    He has a lot to offer as a pro and he has a good chin, he got pushed on the neck whilst being off balance vs Page Jr.

    What's your beef with Beterbiev? He fought ex LHW champions in his 6th and 8th fight, and beat them better or as good as anyone else ever did.
    Not many boxers get fasttracked like that.

    I sure hope he doesn't do it, because it would disqualify him for the Stevenson fight. It might be a Haymon ploy to not have him breathing down Adonis neck.

    It could be a smart move. It could possibly get Canadian fans behind him in numbers that could really fill his wallet when he comes back to the pros.

    He also still needs alot of work if he expects to beat Kovalev and this could give him time to polish up.

    Beterbiev used to box at HW at the Olympics because Mekhontsev was a LHW. If Artur will now compete at LHW he will likely win a medal (at HW it is more difficult, Savon is there)
