Manny Pacquiao after JMM 4. He had already been past it, but this KO took away that edge.
Ah, wrong forum...no ones going to get annoyed by it on Classic unfortunately. There is a big truth to it though lol.

John Mugabi after Hagler, Davey Moore after Duran, James Shuler after Hearns, Donald Curry after Honeyham, Camacho after Rosario, someone mentioned but so weird how he changed from one shot, even though he won. Taylor after Chavez.....

The evidence kind of points to that being the case anyway. Plenty still feared tyson after the douglas defeat right up to even lewis still being a bit wary of him. Frank bruno a world champion at that time...crossed himself on the way to the ring enough times to suggest that might have been the case. Seldon chucked himself to the ground quick enough. Tillman folded pretty quickly.

I dont agree with the all you needed to do was stand up to tyson because plenty tried just didnt work out for them. The aura of invincibility never came from an aura anyway it came from tyson pretty much annihaliting other fighters some good fighters at that also. Same with the douglas fight tyson lost that fight totally underprepared. Douglas deserves a lot of credit because he was brilliant on the nite. I hate taking anything away from him but Tyson beat himself that nite. Was a shadow of his former self. The rot started when he left rooney prior to the bruno fight. Thats when cracks started to appear.

Regardless you wont agree anyway. That still is the truth of the matter tho.

Well, we can't really judge how the loss affected his fighting because he never fought again.

IMHO, I'd have to say Emile Griffith after killing Paret! :patsch
Look at his record. Still HOF smooth but, basically, was decisioning people the rest of his career and...didn't put that higher gear into play in his losses which, I'm sure, cost him in a couple or so....

That would be an interesting list- guys who were never the same after a win. Charles supposedly lost a tick after baroudi. Duran and Frazier both won the biggest fights of their careers and never matched those heights; Duran was 72-1 into Montreal and 31-15 afterwards while Frazier was 27-0 with a 5-4-1 record. You could say neither fighter was ever really hungry again both literally and figuratively. Duran ballooning up to a junior middleweight (and beyond); Frazier was a rock solid 205 for Ali a weight similar to the one he fought at previously. The next three fights: 215, 217, 214.

There are several fighters who 'fell in love with their punch, a similar disease.

You don't think the way he loss had anything to do with that? After all some were picking him to beat Hearns, and win a champion
Ship.... Oops my bad forgot he died in an accident, that explains why he never fought again lol.... apologies

I think Pacquiao lost his mental edge after the Margarito fight. Pacquiao was beating him up and looked to the referee to stop the fight.

A younger Pacquiao would have went for blood. Would have literally killed someone if the towel wasn't thrown.

After Cotto and Margarito he was like I've done everything to do in boxing. There is no point anymore.
